I've tried discussing this before, it really seems like Goku was royally messed up from using the Kaiomehameha x4 and I really think Vegeta could've beat him, given off how the fighters were actually depicted. Vegeta seemed angry but not incredibly injured.

What Boo can they beat?
Goku can defeat Good, Mr., Pure Evil, Innocent, and Pure Boo with Super Saiyan 3. He doesn't need Trunks' help. Against Evil, Piccolo, Piccolo/Goten/Trunks, S. Kaioshin, Gotenks, and Gohan Boo, SS3 Goku can't manage anything, even with Trunks' help.

I don't think Goten and Turnks would be strong enough to beat Fat Buu together. I think they got weaker after DBZ since Trunks was too busy being the President of Capsule Corporation and Goten pretty choose to be the normal life of a teenager/young adult.

SS Goten & SS Trunks may be able to beat Mr. Boo, Good Boo, and Pure Evil Boo, but they don't stand any chance against the rest of the Boos.

GT Trunks is equal to Cell Games Gohan IMO. He hasn't improved much since the 28th Budokai.
