To be honest with you, I never liked new illustration style for DBZ characters. They look so unappealing, especially on game and Z Kai covers. I prefer the old school style over newer one any day. It'd be nice if they keep the style like the Pioneer releases. They look more realistic, far better quality than modern syle. Ever since the Sparking! series came out, the arts quality has been gone down.

That's absord, in the most of Toriyama's drawings of the Z times, he put 2 (even 3) shadows and one highlight, the only difference it's that now it's done digitally and not with ink or something like that.
It's the most of anime old illustrations which were wrong.
Also, your avatar it's from that style...

While I can already tell I'm going to love this release, I will always want a release that matches the quality of this:

If I Knew How to make every episode Look Like That I'd use my old computer to do so.

Like what? The already heavily filtered season set footage, with even more filters on it, giving an oily look to it?

Wow, what did that guy do to the outlines?

I just want darkened outlines and brighter colors :(

And I know its season set footage, but the way he improved it made it look amazing. Besides he did the same thing to the original DVD releases and they look just as good.

With even more destructive filters placed on it, completely destroying any integrity the film had left from Franko's tampering.

SRB2Unleashed seems to want the series to look like a typical American cartoon, and that's his choice, but he will be disappointed when he sees that the the Blu-rays will be darker and more textured.

Okay I guess what I'm trying to say without looking like an idiot is, I want less grain (which can actually be removed with a soft surface blur) darker outlines and brighter colors.

I love how the Blu-Rays currently look. In the end of the day however, my dream release would be similar to what I stated above. I honestly love how all releases look, they're all unique. (Though the Orange Bricks did get annoying at times)

And that also removes the detail from the hand painted backgrounds as well, which look horribly flat and blurry in those videos you linked to previously. The brightening the already bright season set footage further destroys the light and dark colors, to the point of almost making them disappear, which in turn makes everyone look like Michael Jackson.

Anyway, you're in for disappointment when you see that the Blu-rays are not blurred in the slightest, and have the grain magnified due to the fact that it's only 16mm and it's higher resolution.

[EDIT]
Didn't see your edit:
I love how the Blu-Rays currently look.
I find that a bit interesting, since they're the opposite of what you say you want. But hey, I'm not complaining about that.

I just like the way those videos look, and I would like a release that's similar to that, because honestly I think the outlines are kickass.

But at the same time I like the Blu Rays that are coming out for there sharpness and colors.

Is that a better explanation?

I don't understand what the issue is with grain. I don't mind it at all. I'd take excessively grainy over excessively blurry. *cough*greenbricks*cough* It adds texture and detail to the image. I hate when studios remove grain from their movies, making it look like shit. (IIRC Clash of the Titans did that.) I really, honestly think DVNR serves no purpose.
I've also noticed that people go insane over grain on a TV show, but on a movie it's fine. If you look at the double features, (with the exception of movies 8 and 10) they left some grain on. What's the difference.
Those videos look godawful. Keep in mind, I'm one of those people who think the GT singles look great.

I also think the double features look great, but it's because they successfully removed most of the grain with minimal blurring. Overall, I don't understand not wanting a cleaner image if you can strike a balance like that. The double features and Kai, in my opinion, are the best the franchise has ever looked.
Pokewhiz7 wrote:Keep in mind, I'm one of those people who think the GT singles look great.
Which, while I respect your opinion, I find totally absurd. The GT singles look terrible. Removing grain can be problematic, but excessive amounts are just as bad. There are some episode on the GT singles that look like they were stored in boxes of nothing but magnet shavings and staples. There are literally moments in the first sixteen episodes where it looks like there's a small-scale sandstorm occurring within the borders of Trunks' jacket. It's bad. Just bad.

I guess my vision of a 'perfect' Dragon Ball release would be similar to this:

Too much grain removal seems to remove some "depth" from the image.

That kind of reminds me of those Goten and Trunks scenes in Movie 12. It's actually kind of neat but I wouldn't want the entire show to look that way personally.

Now why I would want some more outline depth, I don't want as much as the Fusion Reborn scenes with Goten & Trunks VS Hitler had.
