I hope you're not saying that I'm stupid because I think this new look happens to be cool. I'm no fan of "Death Race," even though everyone walking into that movie KNOWS it's stupid fun, but I AM a fan of James Wong and Stephen Chow. I'm also a fan of Dragonball, and I'm all for changes that make sense in live-action.

If you weren't a fan of Dragonball, and the villain was some cliche green alien with antenna wearing a TURBAN, you'd think it was pretty damn stupid and if you were middle-eastern possibly even offensive.

It's amazing how everyone is so quick to hate Piccolo when we know James Marsters is so devoted and we know how much work went into Piccolo each and every day. But, what am I saying, I'm on the most hardcore Dragonball purist fanboy site on the net. You hate change. Even IF it's for the better. Some things don't make any sense in the manga or anime, and good for them for trying to make sense of it, thus making audiences take it seriously.

I would say wait for the trailer (or even the movie! gasp!) but there's no changing your mind. You will hate this movie to the day you die, even if it's a masterpiece.

A little defensive are we? You're mistaking extremist views on the movie for mine. I don't care that much...if I think something is stupid, I'll write it off. I'm not going to cry over it. Also, you don't know what my opinion would be on piccolo or the middle-eastern style if I wasn't a fan, but I doubt I would be offended because I don't let crap like that bother me. People whine far too much about that stuff and try to find racist things where they don't exist. Why don't you wait for a trailer to express your opinion? If I can't know it will be bad from a few pictures then there is no way you can know it will be good. haha Whatever you wanna think dude, I don't have time to waste on hating a stupid movie for that long.

Piccolo look weird but i still think it could be pretty good movie.Koopa in SMB didnt look like original and i still find both movie and character quite good

I enjoyed the Hong Kong live-action movie immensely, and their Oolong was...less than accuate. =p

I'm still trying to figure out why the turban was even an issue for DAIMAO.

Does that mean we're getting Ma Jr in this film (or that they are fusing younger Daimao with Ma Jr)?

Honestly, the black outfit isn't doing it for me, but I can get by that. As far as Piccolo's actual design, I really just take issue with the skin color. If this speculation that he's supposed to look washed out while old and will have a deeper hue when rejuvenated turns out to be true, then I can swallow it.

I think some people are taking the "Spike" thing a bit far though. Chuquita said (and I'm sorry for singling you out Chuquita, yours was just the first that came to mind) a few pages back that he looks like a "pale, yellow, bald version of Spike." I kinda hold that at pale and yellow. Bald, well, Namekians are a bald race. "Spike" I would say that James Marsters with demonic features = James Marsters with demonic features. Give the guy pronounced features and teeth extensions and that's pretty much how he's gonna look. Piccolo doesn't really seem to have the Buffyverse vampire brow.

I'm pissed at this color thing though, I have to admit. Back when they first cast James, I used to tell people who couldn't picture him in the role to envision Spike but bald and green skinned (with a different outfit, obviously). Now everyone's upset that he looks too Spike-ish, which basically means you can Photoshop a more accurate Piccolo clip out of a Spike screen cap than what we have.

As number 1 Piccolo fanboy, and a big JM fan, I'll still hold out til I see him in motion. There's more to acting than makeup. I'm just venting a bit. I mean, Daredevil changed the Kingpin's nationality, but MCD sold the role (I actually kinda like his Fisk better than the comic one). So we'll see.

My beef with Daimaô's clothes are the 'armor', Piccolo the Great Demon King as no need for puny armor.

People are over reacting so much, I have proven through my photoshopping that he isn't that far off, it's not like I spent five hours on those, more like 10 minutes tops.

No offence taken. I'm just a fan of bad humor. I laugh at poop jokes and such.

Old Piccolo Damaio is skinny indeed. Maybe they'll put in some styrofoam fake-muscles in there later, if he wishes for his youth.
But I guess that the pictures we see are the ones from when he has wished for eternal youth, which makes that he will look skinny.
Still, they could have put in styrofoam-fake muscles. Or make like the Bat-Suit - extra muscular.

Has it been confirmed that Daimao will actually start out old?, I always figured they'd just ignore that.
