Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread: "Fukkatsu no F"
Vegeta's boost was powered by rage and his love for Bulma. That's the explanation. Think back to when Gohan was a toddler. He nearly KO'd Raditz in one hit due to his rage. Like a lot of Shounen, deep emotions play a large part in someone's strength.
Okay but since we started to watch DBZ we acknowledged Gohan's hidden powers a point that was never introduced to Vegeta. Also why didn't he get a power boost after Cell killed Future Trunks? It seems like a plot hole to me, something that Toriyama planned to be a gag just like his dance to "save" the Earth.
And it's not that Toriyama doesn't take fans seriously. It's that he doesn't take the series itself seriously. And that, IMO, is a good thing. This next part isn't geared at you specifically, but I've noticed this a lot in the fanbase. It takes the show too seriously/literally. People care way too much about Power Levels, Multipliers, and "Who is stronger than who?". Everyone's too caught up in in technicalities like whether Freeza should have been reincarnated as pieces or as a cloud/gas (Who gives a shit? Why does such a small detail matter?) instead of just sitting back and enjoying cool fights and poop jokes.
Are you for real? You talking like all story of Dragon Ball supposed to be a joke. I don't see like that, something like: "Uh... Freeza come back from Hell with powers that exceed Goku newly obtained god powers with not a good development, but is okay if it was a good fight with plenty action"
We fans that grew up watching the series want more than fights and enemies with overwhelming powers coming from nowhere beating the crap out of our favorite characters, we want a good story, with great character development, with funny scenes but also serious and dark scenes too, that's the essence of Dragon Ball, pal it's not like cartoons you see in Nickelodeon that you just watch don't giving a shit for the story and rest, my opinion

There was a video about V-Jump.
Anything about the movie?

Unfortunately, no. Mostly Dragon Ball Heroes related.Bullza wrote:There was a video about V-Jump.

The Bulma Blog's been updated; this time with interruption by Freeza: http://ameblo.jp/dragonball2015/entry-11991431564.html
Unlike Gokû, however, Freeza doesn't spill any new plot info so far as I can tell.
*Will all Gokû interruptions have mini plot-spoilers while everyone else just talks? That'd be fun. X3

This is... just no.Big Momma wrote: People care way too much about Power Levels, Multipliers, and "Who is stronger than who?". Dragon Ball is not a poop joke series, I don't care if this website promotes that. That is not Dragon Ball.
And Toriyama can be whatever, but he's always been extremely consistent with power levels, so yeah. Powers levels do matter, even if they don't to some people. They ARE part of the series and you can't take that away.

You just can't change people's mind, if they like the whole Dragon Ball franchise as a "cool fights and poop jokes", let them like so. As long as we know that these things you said do matter, there's no problem.

Sure, and Krillin dying for the first time is part of Dragon Ball too. It that's a joke, cool then.
Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread: "Fukkatsu no F"
I think he means as a whole... Not one or other comical moment that literally involves poop.
Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread: "Fukkatsu no F"
I'm sorry Toriyama never cared about powerlevels , and only used them to show you had better look deeper then how they appear or what their power level may appear to be.
Truth is this happened to pretty much every character in the series, And I'm sure it'll happen again.

If we can force Ti.en to be Tien, then let's force Bills to be Beerus. Pls. My sanity.
A comedy series isn't a literal joke the entire time, just like a serious series isn't a literal life/death/drama/superserious the whole time. I'm not sure where you're coming from Drayenko.

Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread: "Fukkatsu no F"
I think you guys are overreacting and taking Big Momma's comment out of context. Pretty sure he was meaning that the series is absurd and simple at its core, and isn't meant to be the subject of such intense scrutiny and absolutely unchanging, consistent algorithmic rules.
Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread: "Fukkatsu no F"
Is it really such a surprise that some fans take issue with the continuity slips? Of course we're going to talk about it. Freeza having a body in Hell and the fact that he can jump from initial Super Saiyan tier to beyond Super Saiyan Vegetto tier in 4 months are very interesting subjects. That's what we enjoy talking about. Just like how other people enjoy knowing all the technical details of how the movie is being made, or who is doing the music, etc, etc. Let's all just get along and stop acting like X group is ruining the thread with their talking.

I'm just trying to say that you can't define it under "poop joke." That's like if I were to say Dragon Ball is a Satanist series because there is this guy that's called Mr. Satan, therefore it promotes the devil.

Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread: "Fukkatsu no F"
I said it's a part of the series. Lighthearted elements from Dragon Ball will be part of the new movie, because that's part of what the series is. Acting like it's inappropriate or completely out of place doesn't really make sense. Relax and enjoy.Drayenko wrote:Sure, and Krillin dying for the first time is part of Dragon Ball too. Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread: "Fukkatsu no F"
Yes I am. "Poop joke" is very specific, and there's probably like 4 of those jokes in the whole series. It makes no sense to condense everything around THAT.
Of course it is. I'm not trying to come off as a "Dragon Ball is hardcore bla bla bla." The 2008 special is extremely lighthearted and is the best thing that has been done the past few years, because that feels like what Dragon Ball is.FatNagger69 wrote:I said it's a part of the series. Lol just realized Bulma refers to herself as Bulma-sama. Self centered as ever.
