I think Gamefaqs would have to try really hard to be as bad as IMDB, but your point remains valid. Gamefaqs is no longer the safe haven of informative gaming knowledge it used to be. I'd recommend trying Reddit, IGN or Gamespot but that's only if you're desperate for info.Hellspawn28 wrote:So who here has the game? Reading through the PS4 forum for Xenoverse is making my brain cells die just because how stupid that place is. Gamefaqs used to be a fun place like 10 or 15 years ago. Now the place is just as bad as IMDB. I see so many people on that forum bitching about the roster and that people are stupid saying that XV is good while Raging Blast 2 is bad.

How does recustomisation wish from Shenron work again? Can you change your name, gender or race? I assume the last two aren't possible, so is there a way to delete characters?
I'm re-watching Dragon Ball GT in full on my blog. Check it out if you're interested in my thoughts on the series as I watch through it!

Isn't Demigra's name basically pronounced correctly? Also, why's that such a big deal? And besides our voice, I thought most of the CaC voices were just fine. Especially from Seitz and, I think, Lowenthal.SingleFringe&Sparks wrote:My hype never died faster. My hype never died faster.
Hmmm, what a shame.
CaC looks limited as hell
I think it's fine, it's a step up from UT.
All the dub CaC voices are horrendous
I don't think so, but to each their own.
no aura or voice adjustment option, no facial feature toggle, no alternate fighting styles
Kinda bummed out about that one, but it is what it is.
OH NO!!!Demigra's name is pronounced wrong
Me and many other people still find them hilarious.TFS more recent unfunny dialogue style is in....damn
$59.99whats this game worth now?

Facial feature toggles? What games that you know have this that are considered fighting/adventure games? Demigras name is pronounced correctly. There are aura changes but you have to be a high enough level...use japanese language settings. CaC is both limited and non-limited. TFS is sortof funny, and there's only 1 voice from it. Alternate fighting styles? Gah lol, buy a different game or stop following it. Your opinions do matter but only so much is taken into account until it turns into whining. The game will still be good.SingleFringe&Sparks wrote:My hype never died faster. No it isn''t. The difference isn't really worth making a fuss about though, but it's the same thing they do to pronounce Goku's name wrong too.Sigh-Ya-Jin wrote:Demigras name is pronounced correctly.

Anyone know of a cheaper price than £40 for the PS4 version in UK? It's the cheapest I've found so far.

This is why I get irritated when people don't pay attention.
Each race gets 3 fighting styles tailored to 3 styles of fighting.
Melee focused
Ki Blast focused
A balance of both
You get to choose which of the 3 you want to use once you finish making your character and each race has variations in their movesets to further distinguish themselves from the other races. So before you start whining and crying foul, do some actual research please.

Apparently, it's supposed to be said "Go-KUU" but the dub says "GO-ku." I really don't see the difference except on where the place the emphasis, but that's just me.TheGmGoken wrote:Wait Goku is pronuced wrong!?TheDevilsCorpse wrote:No it isn''t. Exactly. Funimation puts the stress on the first half of his name, when it should be in the second half. For Demigra, they stress the wrong portions and change it into Dem-E-Grah (like demigod), instead of Deh-Mee-Grah.Dbzfan94 wrote:Apparently, it's supposed to be said "Go-KUU" but the dub says "GO-ku." It's wrong, but I'm not going to actively complain about it or anything. It's not like they changed the pronunciation completely, like with Dah-Boor-Uh/Dah-Boo-Rah (depending on the character saying it).

Honestly, I don't get what the problem is. The CaC is limmited? Compared to what? Most of the things being pointed out (such as facial-feature customizations and right wrong name pronunciations) just seem like nitpicking. Although I must say there are a couple of valid concerns, like alternate fighting styles, but these don't bother me much, personally.
IMO, Xenoverse is still shaping up to be one of the best DB fighting games to date in most aspects (story, CaC, combat, ect.) Of course, to each their own.

They've been saying Goku like that for years!!! Nobody said anything till now. Lmao, yeah they def were pronouncing Demigra like it's spelled and not how it's said.TheDevilsCorpse wrote:Exactly. Wow I did not pay attention to the sound names supposed to make. But as you said. It's not Dabra vs Dabura. Or Dr.Gero vs Dr. Gero. Funimation still can't say his name right.
TheGMGoken dislikes this.

Eh, even with Dabura, I've never been bothered by the slightly different way the name is pronounced. Admittedly I'm not as picky on these sort of things as most are.
And in all fairness, Demigra's kind of an odd name anyway, even by Dragon Ball standards. Or rather, it's an odd Dragon Ball name. Apparently it does have a food-based pun, so that's nice, but...it still seems weird, somehow.

To be fair not every name pun in DB is food based. Piccolo Daimao's children were named after instruments, Freeza and his family were all based on low temperature terms.Gyt Kaliba wrote:Eh, even with Dabura, I've never been bothered by the slightly different way the name is pronounced. Oh no, I know that. I should've worded that better though - I'm glad that Demigra's name is a pun of some kind at all, but it's just not really working for me as a DB-styled name regardless.KentalSSJ6 wrote:To be fair not every name pun in DB is food based. Kaioken, Kayoken
Dabra, Dabura
Mr. Satan, Hercule
Dr Gero, Dr Jeyro
Who freaking cares, man. If that's the way they pronounce the names or if they wanna call the characters by their dub names, so be it. Why do people have to be super overzealous about stuff like this for. I don't go off on the Japanese folks for mispronouncing some names that are from the US.

Calm down. No one was complainng. It's just a nitpick that's all. And to be fair Kayoken is a straight mispronunciation. Also I don't care much for names but it's kinda ignorant per say to say something wrong. It's like if someone kept saying your name wrong. For example my real name is Pudd (Pronunciation is Pood) and I'll get annoyed (if I already corrected them) if they kept saying Pudd as in Puddle or Puuud.Who freaking cares, man? Lastly I'm sure most would like to be corrected if they say something wrong.
