This is a much more ill tempered Nail. So far I am loving thus special. But maybe that's because I am a Namekian fanboy.
Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
Wait a second, is that Freeza's silhouette in the background (last panel)? Is Gast going to fight him already?

With how popular DBM is, I wonder if Akira Toriyama has heard of it or checked it out, at all.

Toriyama doesn't seem to care (or remember) much about the series or its fandom, so I doubt it.FindKenshi wrote:With how popular DBM is, I wonder if Akira Toriyama has heard of it or checked it out, at all.

Me too (as you can tell from my username). But the story and artwork in general has been great.Godo wrote:This is a much more ill tempered Nail. So far I am loving thus special. But maybe that's because I am a Namekian fanboy.

Why are Freeza's soldiers greeting Nail? O_o
James Teal (Animerica 1996) wrote:When you think about it, there are a number of similarities between the Chinese-inspired Son Goku and that most American of superhero icons, Superman. Both are aliens sent to Earth shortly after birth to escape the destruction of their homeworlds; both possess super-strength, flight, super-speed, heightened senses and the ability to cast energy blasts. But the crucial difference between them lies not only in how they view the world, but in how the world views them.
Superman is, and always has been, a symbol for truth, justice, and upstanding moral fortitude–a role model and leader as much as a fighter. The more down-to-earth Goku has no illusions about being responsible for maintaining social order, or for setting some kind of moral example for the entire world. Goku is simply a martial artist who’s devoted his life toward perfecting his fighting skills and other abilities. Though never shy about risking his life to save either one person or the entire world, he just doesn’t believe that the balance of the world rests in any way on his shoulders, and he has no need to shape any part of it in his image. Goku is an idealist, and believes that there is some good in everyone, but he is unconcerned with the big picture of the world…unless it has to do with some kind of fight. Politics, society, law and order don’t have much bearing on his life, but he’s a man who knows right from wrong.

Just because they're murdering soldiers doesn't mean they don't know common courtesy.DBZGTKOSDH wrote:Why are Freeza's soldiers greeting Nail? O_o
But seriously, I think they're mocking him, or just preparing to attack.

Seeing that he is over 50 years old, I doubt he is going to have the time to read some fan manga. He has other things in his life to do then care about fan art.FindKenshi wrote:With how popular DBM is, I wonder if Akira Toriyama has heard of it or checked it out, at all.

It seems more like mocking to me. They're giving off a sort of "Hey, buddy, guess what?" kind-of vibe.Piccolo Daimao wrote:Just because they're murdering soldiers doesn't mean they don't know common courtesy.DBZGTKOSDH wrote:Why are Freeza's soldiers greeting Nail? O_o![]()

At that age, he should have considerably less to do. He's retired now. Besides, DBM is a sensation. I think the worst thing we could do here is label it as insignificant fan art.. it's available in over 20 languages!Hellspawn28 wrote:Seeing that he is over 50 years old, I doubt he is going to have the time to read some fan manga. You seem to give Toriyama a lot more credit than you should in a lot of your posts.FindKenshi wrote:At that age, he should have considerably less to do. He's retired now. Besides, DBM is a sensation. And yeah, DBM being a "sensation" is entirely subjective. Just because something's popular doesn't mean it's good. Just look at Twilight or Lady Gaga (yes, those are subjective too, but you get my point).

No it isn't.FindKenshi wrote:Besides, DBM is a sensation.
Even if it isn't an insignificant fan art, it's still insignificant compared to just about everything else.FindKenshi wrote:I think the worst thing we could do here is label it as insignificant fan art..

Oh God, Appule's "derp" face in the first panel!
And I don't want to sound like I'm beating a dead horse, but more translation errors? Really, Salagir?
Anyway, I'm looking forward to Nail's destruction of Dodoria.

I have to admit, though, I was expecting far worse in the story department for this special. (I guess it's just how low they've set the bar for those)

Shouldn't it be time for you to think to yourself "hm, I don't like this, maybe I should stop reading it/stop dedicating time to posting in a thread dedicated to it?"
