Remastered DVD/Blu-ray movies question
Just want to know... do movies 4 and 5 still have the metal songs inserted?
Also while I'm here... where there any changes from the original Funimation tv specials to the dvd/bluray editions?

They do in the "dub with dub music" track.SSj Gogito wrote:Just want to know... do movies 4 and 5 still have the metal songs inserted?

Any help on the other question?

Re: Remastered DVD/Blu-ray movies question
Aside from the better video, I'm not sure. The dubs for both specials make my ears bleed (not even Solid State Scouter can save the Bardock special's horrible script), so I couldn't really tell you if there were any dialogue changes and such.SSj Gogito wrote:Any help on the other question?

Well... from wht I understand, occasionally the songs are MISSING (the end credits in the Trunks special). I don't think the dialogue has changed though.
For all the flack that FUNimation gets on this forum for their quote about DBZ, there's some modicum of truth to it: a 9-year-old is born every day. Or in some cases, "reborn". DBZ may be a kids' show, but it's been so close to so many hearts all over Japan, America, and quite possibly, even the world.
In the specials Kyle Hebert has replaced Dale Kelly as the narrator. In the Bardock special Phil Parsons has replaced Chris Sabat as Nappa. The Bardock special has some added lines like in the beginning battle on Kanassa one guy says "I've drawn blood". That's all I can remember.

Yeah, the first part of Bardock has a shitload of added lines.DB_Fan1991 wrote:In the specials Kyle Hebert has replaced Dale Kelly as the narrator. Yamcha: Do you remember the spell to release him - do you know all the words?
Bulma: Of course! I'm not gonna pull a Frieza and screw it up!
Master Roshi: Bulma, I think Frieza failed because he wore too many clothes!

It's like they just want to make their dub even worse! You mean "Rock the Dragon"? FUNimation doesn't use it anymore. The Galactic Tyrant wrote:In the new Histroy of Trunks And Bardock Specials is that song still one of the intros (You know the one that pretty much repeats saying "DragonBall Z")?

They didn't add any crap about him being a scientist or anything, did they?
I'm not sure if they changed that in the redub of season 1 or not, seeing as I didn't watch it, but it irritated me to no end when I found out that Goku's dad was not only not a scientist, but Vegeta probably didn't know him, and never uttered that line in Japanese.

So is the English dub with US music track the same as the original release besides video quality?DB_Fan1991 wrote:In the English dub with US music track the song you speak of is there. The Galactic Tyrant wrote:In the new Histroy of Trunks And Bardock Specials is that song still one of the intros (You know the one that pretty much repeats saying "DragonBall Z")?

In the redub it's changed to the Japanese explanation about bruits waves and that stuff. No mentioning of Bardock at all.SweetCosmicPope wrote:They didn't add any crap about him being a scientist or anything, did they?
