Blood and total violence in the series

I'm interested in knowing every single big gasp moment in the whole series.

For example like Tien's arm getting cut off or Goku getting a hole in his stomach or Goku's nightmare where the androids kill his friends.

If you're talking about things like outright mutilation, those moments tend to become more and more few as the series progresses. Hell, after Vegeta has his arm broken by No. 18, I can't really recall much else that's worthy of mention . . .

Well, except for Boo. He had all sorts of stuff done to him, but his regenerative ability takes away from the shock value.

The original DragonBall has more of these kinds of moments. Drum got an eye kicked straight out of its socket by a kick to the head, and Goku himself had a hole blasted straight through the chest by Majunior during the final match of the 23rd Tenkaichi Budokai.

It's mainly the fault of the anime, with the rest of it being due to how the later fights became less and less serious.

The manga boasts a little more gore as opposed to its anime counterpart, however. SSJ2 Gohan vs. the Cell Juniors FTW-- brains and eyeballs everywhere.

Trunks had a hole blasted in him by Cell's beam. Videl took one of the worst beatings in the series. Babidi exploded Spopovitch in fairly gruesome way, and then he cut chopped in half by Piccolo, and he later blew up someone's head at the tournament. Super Buu turned to liquid and filled that guy up and popped him.

That's all I can think of after that point.

I forgot about Videl. Poor, poor Videl-- what happened to her was amazingly cruel and brutal, even for DragonBall.

The first moment in the series I can think of like that would be Tien breaking Yamcha's leg. It's the first time anyone was that vindictive.

We do learn indirectly about Chaozu burning someone with the Dodonpa, even if we never actually see it.

Naw? It apparently happened during the preliminaries of the 22nd Tenkaichi Budokai, although mention of it may have been filler-- I'm unfamiliar with the manga's take on it. Bulma and the others take notice of a fighter completely wrapped in bandages and burns, which turns out to have been the result of a losing battle with Chaozu and his Dodonpa.

Hmm. Only seen the anime once, and I don't remember it. I watched the dub though, maybe it was different. Certainly don't remember it from the manga, which I'm much more familiar with.

I would think it must be filler, since Chaozu using the Dodonpa against Krillin is the reveal that he and Tien are connected to Tao, and the anime does sometimes screw things up like that.

I'm fairly sure it's filler, yeah. In the manga there's barely a gap between matches in the tournaments at all. But it's hard for me to say for sure without re-reading the whole saga/arc, since it could be anywhere in there.

Yes I was also thinking of that moment aswell. That, and when Vegeta stomped on Bāta's neck after Son Goku arrived.

Well, since the topic asks for it, how about a list? The ones I can remember, in order...

-Tien breaking Yamcha's leg.
-Krillin's death (off screen, but still)
-Cymbal (I think? I can never remember which names go with which henchmen) getting cut in half by Yajirobe.
-Goku's ass kicking at the hands of old Piccolo.
-Goku kicking Drum's head and his eye popping out.
-King Piccolo disabling Goku's legs and arm.
-Goku killing King Piccolo.
-Yamcha getting headbutted in the nuts.
-Piccolo Jr blasting a hole in Goku's chest.
-Piccolo Jr breaking Goku's legs and arms.
-Piccolo losing an arm against Raditz.
-Piccolo killing Goku and Raditz.
-Tien getting an arm punched off.
-Monkey Vegeta breaking pretty much every bone in Goku's body.
-Freeza killing the Namekian child.
-Dodoria killing the 3 Namekians (snapping at least one neck from what I remember).
-Vegeta killing Zarbon.
-Vegeta chopping Guldo's head off.
-Reacoom breaking Gohan's neck.
-Freeza snapping Nail's arm off.
-Freeza impaling Krillin on his horn.
-Freeza getting cut in half.
-#20 crushing that guys neck and popping his head off.
-#20 putting his hand through Yamcha.
-Cell sucking up that man in Ginger town.
-Videl vs Spopovitch.
-Babidi popping Spopovitch.
-Babidi getting chopped in half by Piccolo.
-Babidi popping the tournament officials head.
-The two gunmen shooting people/Bee. (perhaps the most real act of violence in the series. Those two guys who took advantage of the chaos to just go round shooting people always seemed to clash a bit with the DB world to me)
-Super Buu going inside one gunman and bursting him.

Think that's all.
