Goku and Chi-Chi's Anniversary (?)

Post by Big Momma » Fri May 07, 2010 4:39 pm

So, a friend of mine on Facebook said that GokuxChichi fans (Or at least the Japanese ones) celebrate Goku and Chi-Chi's anniversary on May 7th, which happens to be today. I'm not sure how much truth there is to this, but if it's legit, then congrats to the happy couple!

May 7th is the day each Budoukai is held, so if this was their anniversary, then that means they got hitched right after Gokuu defeated Piccolo at the 23rd. I guess that's plausible within the manga continuity.

But a bunch of other junk happened before their wedding in the anime. I don't remember how much time was implied to pass during those episodes, but Daizenshuu 7's timeline says they didn't finish their adventures with the furnace and stuff until May 8th. Going by that, they definitely weren't married yet on the 7th. It doesn't give an exact date for their wedding, though. From what I remember, it didn't seem like the wedding happened the same day they finally fixed the furnace, so I doubt it was the 8th, either.

So, I don't know. It probably depends on what you personally consider canon and all that. But at the very least, today is definitely the Tenkaichi Budoukai day, and Piccolo Day is two days away (May 9th).

But he's also a fighter, through and through [...] he fight until he has, in no uncertain terms, beaten his enemy on terms they can both acknowledge. He doesn't want to kill anyone, or even prove that he can win... he just wants to know he can. He's an ineffably charming bastard who's manly leanings were really incendental, and yes, the fact that he was voiced by a squeaky woman made the combination perhaps all the more charming.

Here's to more internet nerds making porn out of pictures of Chichi. I doubt Goku cares.

Happy anniversary, Chi-Chi! May this anniversary be empty and loveless as the last!

Seriously, though, why do you put up with that guy? I mean, get a divorce! He's not the right man for you! Go out on dates, see other people, seize the day, girlfriend!

Now lets add up all the days they actually spent together, then things would really get depressing.

That's only about three years. Out of the 18 or so that Goku's around. Implying that he's gone 5/6 of that time. :?

Considering their wedding was aired in Episode 153 on April 12, 1989, wouldn't that be their anniversary date?
