*Hands Kai Blu-Ray Box 4 the trophy for best Kai cover to date*
P.S Is anyone buying the Japanese releases? $23.50 USD for three episodes is a bit much.

And that's why I'm glad Funi went away from the $20 for 3 uncut episode DVDs (and $15 uncut VHS with 3 eps, and $10 edited VHS with 3 eps), it's a wallet breaker over time. Utterly ridiculous.
That said, I do love those covers. They are awesome.

Well, these box sets do have production book inside of them and you have to fully admit the packaging, discs art, cover arts all superior than FUNimation's

True, but that makes it hardly worth paying considerably more on the Japanese releases.

1. "Jap" isn't really an acceptable abbreviation for Japan. It's an old racial slur. Try JPN. Or just type out the whole word; it's not that long.
2. Holy hell, everyone needs to appreciate how expensive media is in Japan. Those Blue-Ray sets are obscene for fourteen episodes.

It's been offensive for sixty or seventy years. Hardly 'nowadays'.

"Jap" would be the equivalent of calling an African American person a "nigga". It's a WWII racial slur and we all know how that ended, so please don't use it.

It's not the same comparison. It's all about the context he used it in. "Jap" is short for Japanese. I use "Eng" short for English also. I use it all the time. Especially the context. The word "nigga" "nigger" the whole word is offense to begin with, so even if I said "nig" shorten for "nigger" or whatever. Then yeah, that would be offensive. Because the whole term is offensive. Is the term "Japanese" offensive, no? On that note, the war is over by now, right? Even in his context he was referring to Dragonball Kai, not even a real person so to speak. I have no idea how could that be offensive, in his context.

I really don't feel like arguing with you, but the term "Jap" has some negative connotations. If he wanted a way to abbreviate the word "Japanese" he should've used "JP" or "JPN".

ANYWAY, those covers are gorgeous. Although it'd be nice to have them here stateside, I do like the FUNi-commissioned artwork for our DVDs (so far). It's neat. Admittedly the discs are overpriced, but still very neat.

It's "
Eng." to abbreviate
English, and "
Jap." to abbreviate
Japanese. "
Eng" isn't at all correct, though at least it's not a racial slur like "
Jap". EN, ENG, JP, and JPN are also acceptable.
