Question ("Go-kou" vs "Go-ku")

Yeah, they can. Japanese keyboards are basically the same as our keyboards, so everything is typed in using the roman alphabet. In other words, they use romanizations on a daily basis.'lo Legends wrote:I'm sure that Japanese students are taught the english alphabet, but the Japanese population as a whole really cannot tell if "Goku" is an incorrect romanization. The same with "Klilyn", ect.
(Yeah, ok, there were keyboards in like the 80's that had all kana characters on them, but that doesn't count...)
Yeah, I kinda think the "ch" words benefit from the letter c. @_@;Rocketman wrote:Kheater?'lo Legends wrote:There is no word that uses a C that couldn't use a K or an S instead.
Mhmm. In order to write up my examples I actually had to write out "gokuu" and "gokou" before my Japanese font turned them into hiragana. So.. why anyone in Japan would think Gokou is correct for ごくう .. well. That's just beyond me.DBW wrote:Yeah, they can. Why do you choose to romanize the name 「孫悟空」 as "Son Gokou," even though the correct romanization would clearly be "Son Gokuu"?

Re: Question
You should add Oozaru to that list. I've spelt it wrong quite a few times before. Ozarru... Ozarruu... see?VegettoEX wrote:I've got it set on a whole bunch of lame spellings, like "Gokou" and "Hercule". ^^;;DBW wrote:Why the hell does the site automatically correct the spelling to Goku? Because Kaio-Ken just doesn't cut it anymore.
