Favorite original North American opening

Post by Super Sonic » Sun Sep 05, 2010 4:36 pm

As the title says, what would you guys say were your favorites of the DB/Z/GT openings made for North America (not counting dub versions of original Japanese theme songs). And to avoid fights, I ask that we not go on about how Cha-La was better or make comparisons to the Japanese versions at all. After all Japan changes opening themes to dubbed versions of US and Canadian cartoons without complaints from abroad. Just simply which ones you liked better than others. For myself, favorites were Rock the Dragon and Gotta Find that Dragon Ball. Felt Rock the Dragon had one of those memorable mostly instrumentals that stick out and you instantly recognize similar to the X-Men and MK themes. Didn't care for the Funimation one done by Mr. Faulconer. music during the show was fine at times, but didn't care for that theme.

My favorite is the Canadian Opening of Dragon Ball Z and a close runner-up would be the Canadian Dragon Ball opening song.

Rock the Dragon all the way.

Wasn't that the opener for Budokai 1? -where they replicated the opening animation? Aahhh, the days of great opening animation for a game.

As well as the Faulconer one and it's incarnations.

Yeah this. I still wouldn't mind seeing this on a TV version or as an extra of some sort.

Dragon Ball!
Gotta catch that Dragon Ball!
Don't stop until you find 'em all,
those seven magic balls,
it's all you gotta do to make your wish come true!
Get that Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball,
The greatest test of all is to find that seventh ball!

But he's also a fighter, through and through [...] he fight until he has, in no uncertain terms, beaten his enemy on terms they can both acknowledge. He doesn't want to kill anyone, or even prove that he can win... he just wants to know he can. He's an ineffably charming bastard who's manly leanings were really incendental, and yes, the fact that he was voiced by a squeaky woman made the combination perhaps all the more charming.

I mean, you're pretty open about looking at cartoon porn. Why would you do that? It's fiction. The proportions of these women are not possible to reach in reality.

Well I was gonna say dub Makufushighi Adventure or DAN DAN, but since that's a no-no.

I guess I'll go with this.
