Clash of the Nicktoons - DragonBall Z Kai vs. Avatar

So I was watching DBZKai, last night, and saw a promo for "Clash of the Nicktoons". This year, it's only Avatar, and DragonBall Z Kai competing, and they're gonna pit each of the battles from both series against each-other (the clashes they picked for Kai, ensures a victory). I thought I would post this here, to let you guys know about it.

Nicktoons is asking for trouble with this, man. It's a good way to start some shit, and get kids even more firmly rooted in their opinion. Someone needs to jump in there and let the kids know how important Dragon Ball is to the very existence of Avatar.

There really is no point. It's just another form of advertising the show. By doing this "clash" thing, Nicktoons can get kids to talk to other kids about DBZK. I'm not saying it's a bad thing, it just seems pointless for us.

Reading this, I'm glad us lower middle class folk didn't have computers or internet when I was a kid. There would've been so much fighting about TMNT, X-Men, Biker Mice, etc.

The animation is top notch. Those guys took the time to study specific martial arts to correlate with each bending technique. They know how to walk the line of western and eastern art without making it look retarded. There story telling is terrific and they are one of the few shows that know how to make things relatable to children while keeping adults entertained. It's one of the very few cartoons to come of of the new millennium to not suck. It's a prime example of what digital, 2D animation should look like. I still love me my Dragonball, and you can tell there is a bit of inspiration of DB in Avatar but Avatar is a great show itself. Plus, it has some of the best voice acting I've seen in awhile too, using kids to voice the younger roles...gee what a concept!

Plus action moved quicker than drunken snail. And it has some good female characters that didn't finish as a "virgins for warriors".

And movie based on the series was worse than DB:Evolution.

There's really no comparison, I'd say. Dragon Ball is from the 80s, Avatar is from the 2000s. They're from different decades, from different cultures. Its no stretch at all to say that Dragon Ball paved the way for Avatar, in more ways than just one. Avatar took a lot of inspiration from Dragon Ball in design and execution. DB also was one of a few important anime titles that made the medium popular in the US, therefore also making it something Network Executives would be interested in funding something similar.

Also I'm sure half of those Avatar kids have no clue what DB or GT is, let alone the full story of Z and that the show is twice as old as they are.
