Things DBZ has taught you.

Post by The Iron Fjord » Mon Nov 21, 2011 6:44 pm

(Or Dragon Ball, or GT, whatever floats your boat).

Anywho, watching DBZ as a kid really built up my vocabulary, I mean it!

Brain damage makes you awesome.

It doesn't matter if someone dies, they can just be wished back to life.

To never give up!
Trying eventually has you succeed as long as greed isn't involved
That working out like they do in Dragonball/Z doesn't work as shown.
While trying to be strong like them I learned that your body can't look like theirs b.c real humans have veins :(

Thanks to DBZ, I learned how to dodge. :P

EDIT: No, but seriously, in the Kai dub some of what Freeza has to say introduced me to some words I don't know.

Time.

Watching DBZ was actually what really got me into TV when I was about 5, and I actually learned time (every episode was 30 minutes, came on at a specific hour, etc.) from it, and watching other things.

I learned time, too.

I learned five minutes of time is always longer.

Five minutes in Dragon Ball Z is 2 hours in real time.

A bigger love of the Japanese culture and language and voice acting. But then anime in general gave me that.
It is in his character to be rude and a bit crass. He's a hick, with no formal education. That is Son Goku. That is who he is.

Superman in an orange Gi was the bastard son of FUNimation. Its not The real character, it is as false as Chatku.

DBZ has opened my life up to Japanese culture, especially the anime industry!

DragonBall Z introduced me to Anime. I didn't know it as anime at the time but rather, a very good looking/animated "western animation". (yes i know "anime" is short for animation for Japanese)
After i found out what anime was, and where it came from it opened up a whole new world to me.
At first all i knew about Japan was its anime and manga. But over the years i learned more and more about Japan. Now, today, I know a little bit of Japanese and it's history.

And what Goku said in the english version, "For there's a will, there's a way"

Dragon Ball Z taught me to abandon my family for selfish desires.

Me to. When I watched DBZ Movie 1 when I was 8 I learnt the words immortal and immortality and what they meant I also learnt the word extraordinary when Garlic Jr powers up. And the word(?) tooty fruity when Nikki (I think it was) powers up.

This. Also Freeza and Cell inspired me to try and talk more politely.

Dragon Ball has taught me that it's possible to befriend even your most vindictive adversaries.

On a lighter note, it's also taught me that negligence is okay so long as you save the world.

-It taught me some kana.
-It was the basis for my art style.
-It taught me to know exactly what I'm buying. (Thanks FUNimation)
-It taught me to strike first, and talk later.
-It taught me if there's a new anime or manga and the character is wearing orange, then it must be a homage to Dragon Ball.

Everybody can become a better person if they are given a chance.
Actually, it wasn't Dragonball that taught me that, but still...
Sorry, I can't speak English very well, but I'm trying my best.
