Post by dbboxkaifan » Sun Sep 16, 2012 6:36 pm

How the hell has Dragon Box Z Vol. 2 price risen up to $500??! It's freaking unbelievable!

I know, my email has been buzzing me about new Dragon Box 2's for a the past week. These prices are ridiculous, I just gave up hope on DBOX 2, I just don't have hundreds of bucks for one volume.

At this point, the only thing you can trade for a DBox 2 is another DBox 2.

What the...
Now, that's just extreme. Jesus, for that price, just buy the damn R2 DBoxes and the orange bricks and make your own subtitled versions!

Though, looking that it's a Zero-Feedback bidder, I have my doubts this is real.

Thats a good point (and also another problem). The prices have gone insane. R2 Dboxs are looking pretty good now...

Well, the $500 one had a starting price of $150 which, which is still high for a used copy, though it apparently had a reserve price as well. The excessive prices can come down to one word: greed. But the bidders in that auctions must really want it to go in excess of $500 for just one box.

More power to them.

I was just thinking, wouldn't be just awful if I bought one of these for $500 and then the next week, Funimation announces a re print.

I was about to wonder that in my post, but decided against it. I think it would be funny and serve the greedy scalpers right to see their potential profits plummet as the supply meets or exceeds the demand.

The $300 one was sold for $320 to a user with 126 feedback score (if it matters), the other one is still ongoing.

6---s was the first bidder on the Dragon Box Z 2 that's now up to $500 so the buyer might be serious after all.

By the way, there's more DBOX Z2 for $300 http://www.ebay.com/itm/DragonBall-Z-Dr ... 6rk%3D3%26

I wonder if these people who are buying these boxes for those prices complained about the amount of episodes you got for the price of the blu rays

I think it's disgusting...500 hundred bucks for Dragon-box 2. I mean, I understand supply and demand but give me a break. I don't know anyone in their right mind that would cough up 500 dollars for it especially as bad as the economy is right now. and last year I wanted to buy the box set to Rurouni Kenshin for Christmas but just didn't have the money. but guess what happened this year? it's out of print so they jacked the price up to 500 dollars.

But I am glad that I was able to get boxes 1,3,6,& 7.
The Dragonboxes are like a middle aged woman who still looks good through simply taking good care of her skin and body with maybe a tiny bit of makeup while the Orange Bricks are like a middle aged woman who get's 50 tons of botox, makeup and plastic surgery in order to look younger and as a result looks even worse. ~ ringworm128

If the Dragon Ball DBox gets released in the US -- how many would buy an extra set as an "investment" !?

Better to keep your mouth shut and appear stupid than to open it and remove all doubt.

I would be lucky to get a set for myself :P I wouldn't buy another set just to make money. but I'm hoping and praying that Funimation will get the original Dragonball drogon-boxes released here.

How long has it been since the Dbox servery?

waiting for an anouncement on other Dboxes is like waiting for ocean kai..which was like waiting for the Ginyu/Freeza saga when it was new on Toonami

man...this franchise really makes you wait

In simplest terms: you can get what people are willing to pay for it, but don't go in with an expectation that you will get $500+ just because it is unopened. Since, like you said, the box suffered some damage, list it at its retail price and let things go from there. It could end up selling for a comparable price but, at the very least, a reasonable starting price will be more appealing than an inflated price.
