Much like several others here, I took to editing together my own version of a "kai"-like Buu saga a while back before the official Buu Kai arc was revealed as being in the works, at which point I stopped.
However, for discussion's sake, I thought I would share a clip here of how I handled the Videl-discovering-Saiyaman's-identity issue:

As many of you know, in the manga this particular event occurs much differently than the anime. In the manga, Videl discovers Saiyaman's identity almost immediately during their first encounter when Videl is called upon to help catch a couple of armed robbers fleeing the scene of a crime. However, in the anime their first meeting is after the hijacking of a bus and Videl doesn't discover Saiyaman's identity until much later, making way for plenty of Saiyaman filler material.
The Saiyaman filler tends to be a love-it-or-hate-it kind of thing with most fans. I, personally, don't much care for it so I tried my best to get rid of anything that I could.
Seeing as how my goal was to follow the manga as closely as possible, I chose to have Videl discover Saiyaman's identity after their first meeting which was no easy feat, given how much differently this all plays out in the anime. I had to use the carjacking scene, of course, but I did my best to shorten that event in any way that I could.
What I ended up with is an idea of what I think the official Kai team could do to skip a lot of that filler. Of course, they also have the luxury of re-animating scenes and not having to work with pre-existing audio, so it would be much easier for them to come up with something better. (It's not easy trying to shorten scenes with BGM when working with a mono track.)

Why did you force it wide screen?

It's a common way of getting youtube crawlbots to miss that it's copyrighted footage. Which, of course, he said in the OP.
For all the flack that FUNimation gets on this forum for their quote about DBZ, there's some modicum of truth to it: a 9-year-old is born every day. Or in some cases, "reborn". DBZ may be a kids' show, but it's been so close to so many hearts all over Japan, America, and quite possibly, even the world.
