Karin's Japanese Voice Actor

Throught the entire series Karin is voiced by Ichirou Nagai, however in the Buu Saga is voice is provided by Naoki Tatsuta, the voice of Oolong. What happened to his original voice actor? I know that ChiChi's original voice actress also leave the show in the Freeza Saga and no one knows yet why did she leave.

They just didn't want to call Nagai-san back for what was essentially nothing. His last role as Karin was in episode 169, while Tatsuta-san was used for episode 241. It was easier for them to simply use Tatsuta-san, who was still quite active in the show at this point (still playing Oolong and Yamu during this stage of the series).

And yeah, the circumstances under which Shou Mayumi (the original Chi Chi) left will probably never be revealed (as far as I know).

There's actually tons of situations like that with Karin though, where they simply don't want to call back an actor. It's happened with Shen Long, Vegeta's Father, King Cold, Urunai Baba, Tao Pai Pai and many more. Both Bulma's Mom and Olibu actually had 3 voice actors throughout the series. There's also some more baffling voice changes, like with Saichourou...

Takiguchi Junpei played Saichourou for episodes 53-75, and then Satou Masaharu took over the role for episodes 100-105. However, Takiguchi Junpei played Porunga from episodes 76-107. If Takiguchi-san was still active in the series, then why did they switch him out as the voice of Saichourou?

And as far as I know, Naoki Tatsuta has done Karin's voice on the Budokai games. And looking at the credits at that site, for some reason they didn't credit Puar in the Buu Saga, Videl in the Shadow Dragons Saga, or Bra for most of GT.
