Great Dragonball Z AMVs

Post by Janemba the Great » Sun Jan 08, 2006 6:21 pm

Over the past few years, I have viewed a number of good Dragonball videos. First, I would just like to know what others have in mind as favorites. I will get to mine in a moment

Next, I always wondered what VegettoEX thought about a few DBZ videos that tend to receive high praise (aka in the amv.org top 10%) that were not included in his DBZ AMV guide (I considered reviving that thread, but would have probably been banished).

Dragonball Z Conclusion - This video is actually higher in the ranking than This is DBZ Life. Although focusing primarily on the Kid Buu arc, it is extremely well synced with the music (no vocal) and has a number of great sequences where practically two different things are going on at once.

For You - Again, another video higher than This is DBZ Life. It really puts a great perspective on Goku's goal in life to protect his friends and family. If the series had in fact ended at Frieza, this could have been the definitive video

The Saiyan Race Remake - I suppose the best way to describe this video is Toushi: DBZ style. It takes that song by SR-71 and puts a ton of special effects in there. Its really a fun video that uses footage from all over the series

Dragonball Z Move - This one actually popped up within the past few weeks so I can't say you should have this one on your list. It's another video focusing on the Kid Buu arc, but more action oriented than Conclusion.

Yet Another DBZ Video - I believe this would fall into the category of random DBZ clips set to hard rock. It really gets the job done though, as it is well done and for the most part clips are of good quality.

Obsession - Personally my favorite video out of the bunch because its a Vegeta video set to Queen song. Very good syncing and a memorable use of Vegeta's self-destruction clips make this one stand out.

Gotenks Got the Moves - A fun little video about Gotenks set to Kung Fu Fighting. I suppose the only flaw would be the moment when he uses dub voices for comical purposes, but I see nothing really wrong there.

Vegeta - This video probably falls into the same category as My Resolution or Traces of Insanity. I am sure at one point or another anyone has downloaded this off Kazaa or something as it was common to those programs. It's decent, but a little outdated and to a LP song.

Then there is Dragon Bebop Z, but thats its own little category. Same with DBZ in a Nutshell. The only other video that was not on the lost is Bardock's Last Hour, which is very sad. So, just tell me what ya'll think about those videos or others. Seems kinda dead in this section anyway...

I don't really like to negatively speak publicly about videos, so if I don't like them, I'm not going to say anything about them ^^;;. I know a few videos on that list very vaguely, but none of them well enough to speak authoritatively on them. And I don't feel like watching them right now :D.

I've actually seen most of those videos. I still have DBZ Conclusion on my small hard drive to this day. Although another one that I think is really good is "Lving My Life," (No, I'm not typing bad. That's honestly how it's spelled. :? ) I will post the link to it in an edit. It's got a powerful song and is edited pretty darn well. Focuses on the Trunks TV Special as well as the part of the show were he saves the future. It gives it a good name, I'll say that much.

Anyway, if it's alright with EX, I'll post some links to other DBZ videos that I think are good. So, is that alright? :?

EDIT: The link.
Best. Slip 'n' slide. EVER!
