DBZ Kai Final Chapters has started airing in France

Post by sangofe » Thu Sep 11, 2014 12:59 pm

Those following the "international" thread would know already, but those who don't follow it, probably don't know this. So I figured I'd make a thread to post this news. Kai's on air two times a day, monday - friday. 5:40 pm and 18:05 pm on the (sadly) paying channel "J-One". Dubbed in french. No word wether there will be subbed versions on TV this time around or not.

Here's a couple of captures from one episode 100:

Thanks sangofe!

I have a question, as I have been keeping track of the International Version with the Korean footage. Episode 3 of The Final Chapters, what content does it cover? does it start where episode 100 of the Japanese version does?.
Any help with this would be appreciated.

Thanks.

I don't know. I've only watched episode 100.

Okay, so from the comments I've seen and the next episode preview, there's a chance you might have your answer here.

The original Japanese cut included in one single episode Gohan saving the bus and then the Chibi story.

Instead, in the international version, it seems that Gohan saving the bus happens before what was labelled to us as "episode 100" by the one posting it (which starts with Videl having already seen Great Saiyaman before, so it seems logical that the bus accident happened before).
"Episode 100" is entirely filled with non-Japanese content (fire on a building, Gohan and Videl in the park, attack of the Nappa look-alike).

From the next episode preview and the information that were posted about the bus accident, it would seem the next episode ends at the same place than the Japanese broadcast (Goku announcing he'll be back), but the episode starts directly with the Chibi story without the bus accident (that already happened in a previous episode), leaving room for extra scenes (we can see a man fighting Great Saiyaman with a piece of the cage he just released Chibi from).

But wasn't the burning building from the episode where Gohan went on a date with Angela?

Thank you very much, Cold Skin! you are so kind to find that out for me, and I really appreciate it :)

It would seem that the opening two episodes of "The Final Chapters" match "Z" 200 & 201, meaning episode 3 will be a combination of "Z" 202 & 203. I think the reason behind them using content from 2 filler episodes is that the missing chapter - 425 was adapted differently, and some scenes from that chapter were shown in Episode 203 (but in a different way).
They probably used a scene from 202 so that it wouldn't be the same as watching 203 - personally, I think that because the Great Saiyaman Arc was a nightmare for them to even attempt to cut, and the fact that the opening 2 episodes of the Japanese TV edit was just not entertaining in the least, so they decided to leave Saiyaman pretty much as it was, with the exception to the date scenario.
