Discussion, generally of an in-universe nature, regarding any aspect of the franchise (including movies, spin-offs, etc.) such as: techniques, character relationships, internal back-history, its universe, and more.
To be honest no matter how much i tried to like the new Gohan character design i just cant really accept it, he suppost to be in his 20 now but he looks like a freaking 15 year old kid, I mean WTF! what happened to old Gohan hairstyle from the manga? And the track suit just doesn't suit him because he just looks like a typical earthling instead of a martial artist. What do you guys think, Do you like the gohan new character design for fukkatsu no F or no?
I like it. It looks more like his own look rather than just copying Vegeta. Was never a fan of his EOZ and GT hairstyle.

Power levels establish tension and drama. People who care about them (well, people who care about them in a narrative) don't care about the big numbers or the fancy explosions. If you have character A who's so much above character B, who's the main character, you're gonna be left wondering how in the hell character B, the character we're supposed to care and root for, is going to escape the situation or overcome the odds. It makes us emotionally invested.
If character B doesn't escape the situation in a believable way that's consistent with previous events, then that emotional investment is gone. It was pointless tension, pointless drama made just to suck in the viewer. It has no critical value whatsoever. The audience is left believing that the author can just create whatever scenarios he wants and what happens to the characters is decided by whatever the author wants to happen, regardless of the events that happened in the story. Which, in fairness, is what happens, but the audience wants to be fooled. The audience wants to know that the world they're following has rules. That the world they're invested in isn't going to bend to external factors that are irrelevant to them.
An author can do whatever he wants with the characters, that's not false. But the author should also have the responsibility to make sure it fits in cohesively with the other events in the narrative he has created.
The design is fine. My hairstyle changes a couple of times a year, so Gohan certainly doesn't have to be stuck with the same one for years at a time (same for Kuririn). I really don't get what's worth complaining about here either. It takes the original Buu Arc shape when he goes Super Saiyan, so he's just not spiking it up in the film (but he could if he took the time). Gohan has other priorities outside martial arts, especially now that he has a kid and things are likely a hell of a lot more hectic in his life. That's why he can't find his dogi when he does need it.
I hate to be that guy pointing out the obvious, but that's the joke... It works too.
Direct translations of the Korean DB Online timeline and guidebook.
My personal "canon" and BP list. (Coming Soon)

And... regular people clothes involve him wearing a green jumpsuit??? It just feels somewhat out of his character to be doing that. he looks like a typical urban hipster that just taken a jog in the park. I mean what so bad about wearing goku gi clothes that symbolized everything that he and his dad accomplished, like defeated frieza, helped him become ssj2 so that he could beat cell and finally saved the earth from kid buu. His hair even though might be look more consistent to his kid version, but it doesnt feel canon to the series because adult gohan always had spiked hair.

Yeah I really like that his SSJ style is his Boo arc look. Best of both worlds for me since I dislike when SSJ style is basically a golden recolour. Also as much as I really like Gohan's other priorities...they're treated as filler more than having any real relevance which saddens me. I feel it's like "Oh look he has a family how adorable...ok back to the real story."

You forget that DBZ's enemies always just show up out of the blue during a normal day. This is especially true in the DBZ movies.
Gohan probably WAS jogging in the park. Then boom, Freeza appears and he has to drop everything and start fighting.

I dislike it because of the skinnier, not so DB-like style that they're using for all characters these days, but other than that it doesn't bother me too much. I actually enjoy to see everyone wearing different clothes rather than the usual ones we're used to see them in.
I like Gohan's new look. I mean he's always changing hairstyles and outfits every now and then, this is just another unique design for Gohan, as opposed to looking like Vegeta rip off like some of the other Z-Fighters do.

I still haven’t lived down going, “Who the heck is Tao Pai-pai?” that one time I was talking with Ei’ichiro Oda-kun. But the fact that there are still people reading the series after all this time… All I can say is; “thank you.” Really, that’s all.

And that you also have IMMENSELY skewed and comically backwards priorities in what you think is most important and needed to make a good Dragon Ball story.

I *adored* Gohan's new look when I first saw it. I couldn't believe how negative the comments were.
It's such a breath of fresh air after all these years. I mean, is it really that unappealing to some of you...?

Gohan is supposed to be what ~22 years old physically? It isn't that uncommon for somebody that age to look about 15, plus he is half saiyan. And he is a anime character so placing a exact age based on looks isn't really possible but he doesn't look that young to me.
I don't mind the jump suit so much but I do prefer the Buu arc clothes and art style.
