Y/R: Dragon Ball Super has a beach filler episode
I mean, it's anime filler 101 and anytime Super is bound to have one.
Imagine it... Goku and Vegeta getting into a sand-building competition, Gohan wearing a speedo, Bulma wearing a super-sexy bikini, Yamcha being a surfing god, Chi-Chi revealing she has the body of a goddess under all that baggy clothing, #18 (or Krillin) fighting off guys who try to hit on her, and Videl blushing all embarrassed over showing so much skin after giving birth and bonding with Pan along with Gohan.
It can along lead to some great character development as well...

Haven't we already gotten these in GT? Goku dies, the DBs go away, and the Namekian DBs most likely won't be used again because of the Evil Dragons.

I always side eye the people who say "Now my kids/today's kids can experience what I did as a child!" Nigga, who gives a fuck about your childhood? You're an adult now and it was at least 15 years ago. Let the kids have their own experience instead of picking at a corpse.

Re: Y/R: Dragon Ball Super has a beach filler episode
There actually was an "EoZ-era beach episode" inside a flashback in GT. Almost the entire EoZ cast was in it. Trunks and Goten buried a sleeping Vegeta in the sand up to his neck and then built a sand-mermaid body on top of him.

Yes, I would like to have a beach episode for Super; but I have no idea where they'd place it (in-between the reF arc and the Champa arc?).
EDIT: Actually I'm going to grab my own screenshots. Hold on.

As random as this may sound, I always found that flashback to be most interesting as it's really the only evidence we get that Goku's darker skin-tan in GT is a conscious narrative decision as opposed to merely an artistic/stylistic one.Chuquita wrote:There actually was an "EoZ-era beach episode" inside a flashback in GT. It's a good bit of continuity, but as with a lot of things in GT, a nice hint that's still frustratingly scarce in any real manner of explanation.

My guess we will have the beach filler episode at the end of resurrection of f arc before they move on to universe 6 arc maybe 1 or 2 slice of life episodes in between end of resurrection of f arc and start of universe 6 arc

There's little point to a swimsuit episode if your character designs are bad or your key animators are bad, too. Hopefully one would be able to have really good key animators who draw off model.

I can see an entire slice of life episode dedicated to Goten's new hairstyle...
Also, that beach scene in GT makes no sense. First of all, Goku is... with his family and friends? wtf. Secondly, the entire scene contradicts EoZ.

"Dragon Ball once became a thing of the past to me, but after that, I got angry about the live action movie, re-wrote an entire movie script, and now I'm complaining about the quality of the new TV anime. It seems Dragon Ball has grown on me so much that I can't leave it alone." - Akira Toriyama on Dragon Ball Super

You can't really argue with perfection requiring appropirate celebration and screentime.fadeddreams5 wrote:I can see an entire slice of life episode dedicated to Goten's new hairstyle...

Not that much? Goten and Trunks are tween-sized, Pan is tiny. So it would fit somewhere in the middle of 10-year gap and enough to still keep "5 year of not visiting" Bulma mentioned. Unless I missed some other details.fadeddreams5 wrote:Also, that beach scene in GT makes no sense. First of all, Goku is... with his family and friends? wtf. @Chuquita your screen grabs don't show anymore, any chance u could repost them?

Doesn't contradict anything, because it happened before Goku left with Uub.fadeddreams5 wrote: Also, that beach scene in GT makes no sense. First of all, Goku is... with his family and friends? wtf. Secondly, the entire scene contradicts EoZ.
A world without Dragon Ball is just boring.

Re: Y/R: Dragon Ball Super has a beach filler episode
Aren't beach episodes intended for fanservice? Almost all the time there's beach or hot spring scenes in other anime its just to show all the female characters prancing around in bikini's or fondling each other.
I could have seen Dragonball do it when Bulma was a teen along with Launch, etc....but the cast is too old now. Would have fit Dragonball more too when the series had a lot of sexual humor along with Roshi trying to perv on Bulma, Launch, etc.

Re: Y/R: Dragon Ball Super has a beach filler episode
Such an episode would only be worth it if good animators were involved. That's unlikely with Dragon Ball Super, but damned if I wouldn't want one.
Re: Y/R: Dragon Ball Super has a beach filler episode
There's always Videl and 18 for hot biki bods fanservice, along with Gohan and adult Goten/Trunks for tight speedo manserviceprecita wrote:Aren't beach episodes intended for fanservice?
