Viz DBZ manga box...

Post by DaemonCorps » Sat Apr 08, 2006 1:21 am

I just got the latest Viz "Display Box" for the last few volumes for the series. I also got volume "25" (or volume 41 of the original) and I noticed that it's larger than the normal manga volume. However, when I put this volume into my almost completed Display Box, I noticed that it filled the entire box already.

Is this because Viz is planning on making some wanna-be "super-fantastic" final volume that comes in its own little box (like how they re-released the first Naruto volume in a box along with a little 2006 calendar)? This is the guess that I seriously doubt will happen, but really hope it will...

The more likely thing in my opinion is that they just messed up the sizing of the box and my layout for my manga is completely ruined. :?

I really hope it's the first one...

What they probably did was use the same box size for all the other sets and never bothered to recall that the last two volumes are much larger in size.

I don't have any of the boxes, but yeah I hope its the first one too.
On hiatus.

I would go with the "Viz didn't consider the extra large volumes" thing, but there's only a totaly of 6 chapters extra not including the 5 in Vol. 26, so there should still be a half a volume of room.

But it can't be the idea that they want 26 to have it's own box, because the advertisment for it shows the volume right there...

So, I have no idea! Aren't I helpful?

Umm... not really :? .

Anyway, I checked the back of the box and it clearly says that it's for volumes up to 26. However, I tried putting some skinny DVD boxes to see how much more space the box could hold, and it could only hold one (skinny dvd box)! :x .

Actually, in comparison to the only other Display Box (for the first 7 DB volumes), you can tell that they resized it. But seriously, you would think that Viz would know how wide to make their stuff. :x

Well, if it is my second prediction, then I hope that they do some kind of take back for the people who were generous enough to pay them the shipping and handling for the box and give them a modified version of it (like what they did for the "faulty" volume of One Piece).

I've been hearing about these boxes for awhile and I'm thinking about getting the manga so can somebody please show a pic of it? Much appreciated.

Also off topic, does anybody have a pic of the Naruto manga display box? I want to start getting that too. Thanks!

I wish that VIZ would release the boxes for sale alone like Funimation does on there web site cause I have the ones for db but it doesnt match well with my plain dbz volumes. I love the dragonball manga period. Sniff whatever happened to consistency? :(
Goku:HYAAAH!
Buu:Haa...Haaa
Vegeta:What the hell is going on here?

Sorry for this,it's my attempt at humor.
