What happened to the other androids in the future?

If History of Trunks is anything to go on, Gero DID become Android 20 in the future. So presumably Android 19 was created to transfer his brain to the new body just like in the main timeline. So did Androids 19 and 20 still show up in the future, but Android 19 was killed by Vegeta/Piccolo/someone else? What happened to Android 16? I have a hard time believing Gero would destroy 16, as he was modeled after his son.

I'll also reluctantly ask a third question: What happened to 13, 14, and 15 in Trunks's timeline?

#8 may be dead from #17 & #18, Cell or Goku Black. I think #16 may not been competed on time seeing that Dr. Gero was killed by #18 in the other timelines. As for #19, he may not even exist in Trunks timeline and may only exist in Goku's timeline due to a butterfly effect. #13-15 are consider to be defective in some way or another. They most likely do not exist in Trunks timeline and are probably never competed in that timeline.

In Cell's flashbacks (filler), Dr. Gero is Android 20 in that timeline when 17 and 18 kill him. Surely he had 19 around, if not for the sole purpose of transferring his consciousness into an android body?

I figure #16 was just never activated in Trunks' timeline -- maybe Gero had moved his pod somewhere where #17 and #18 didn't see it when they came out, so rather than them insisting on activating #16, they just killed Gero and headed outside right away without doing anything else around the lab first.

I subscribe to the theory of #19 being killed off-screen by the Z-fighters. Gero would have released the twins but have been predictably killed in the process. Where this leaves #16 I'm not sure. There's no mention of him in the future timeline. My suspicion is that he was either destroyed by the more vindictive twin cyborgs or his containment pod is still sitting beneath the rubble of Gero's lab to this day.

It would have been cool if they use #16 in Super for Future Trunks timeline. He could help lead Earth's Resistances against Goku Black. Not to mention that #16 was made to kill Goku and Black is a evil version of Goku.

So were they also people that Gero kidnapped or something? Whose brains are those?!

For that matter, what led Gero to design...those?

Android 8 was Frankenstein-esque.
Android 9 was a duplicate of Commander Red.
Androids 10-12 are unseen.
Androids 13-15 don't have in-universe inspirations.
Android 16 was modelled after Gero's son.
Android 17 was a teenage boy named Lapis who Gero abducted. He was 18's brother.
Android 18 was a teenage girl named Lazuli who Gero abducted. She was 17's sister.
Android 19 was designed after a doll that Gero had in an RRA base. He liked the design...so he made an android from it!
Android 20 is essentially an android version of Gero.

So that leads me to question: Where did Gero get the idea of making androids resembling a trucker, a...what the hell is 14?, and a purple-skinned gangster?!

Artificial Humans 13-15 are machine-based. We see this with No. 15 when his hat comes off. Only No. 8, 17, 18, and Gero are human-based Artificial Humans. The exposed heads were unique to No. 19 and Gero, but the former is described as completely artificial. If I recall right, the manga isn't with me here, No. 19's head wasn't a brain, but machinery.

We know that in Cell's timeline, Gero was in an android body. I would assume he's an android in all five timelines. Given one of 19's main functions was to transfer Gero's brain into an android bodym it'd make sense that 19 did this in all five timelines. Thus, 19 exists, but his status in the other timelines is a mystery.
