Has Bulma's mother ever played any role in the story?

Post by precita » Mon Dec 12, 2016 5:50 pm

I'm just realizing that of the entire extended cast, every character introduced did something important at some point or another. For example Bulma's father built/repaired Goku's ship that he used to take to Namek, worked on repairing Android 16 with Bulma and the Time machine. Ox King had a role in Dragonball during his introduction as Chi-Chi's father and Roshi's student. Oolong had a big role in the first arc, Puar cut off Goku's ape tail at the end of the Pilaf arc, and worked with Upa to defeat the opponent in Baba's tournament. Every character did SOMETHING important at some point of the story.

But Bulma's mother could be cut out entirely, and nothing would change. If only Bulma's father existed, nothing would change. She's like the only character who doesn't have a single important scene or moment of glory to herself in the series.

There are some theories that say she's an 'Android' created by Bulma's father.

Dude, it's nothing more than a joke from Abridged.
Yamcha: Do you remember the spell to release him - do you know all the words?
Bulma: Of course! I'm not gonna pull a Frieza and screw it up!
Master Roshi: Bulma, I think Frieza failed because he wore too many clothes!

It really doesn't and has no credence in the story whatsoever.

When will you learn that everything from Abridged is canon?

I agree it has no credence, but it's either this or 'age control pills'

Ps. Trunks took these 'age control pills' making him look 8 when he's 14, while Future Trunks looked 14 when he's 14. Goten takes time to grow because he's like Goku.

It can be neither option, too. Is there a particular reason why Bluma's mother needs to have taken anti-aging pills? Her appearance isn't a talking point in the story anymore than her husband seemingly keeping his appearance for roughly 30 years in-universe. It's possible to age gracefully and it's not without subtle changes in the artwork anyway. Additionally, it's called attention to when Bluma herself ages differently so it's not as if the subject is ignored altogether.

No, no there are none..
She is just drawn young, why wouldn't she be? She looks sexy as hell man

Who would want to age this beauty?

Toriyama decided to break the story to let her remain young is what I believe happened, I say he did good

She had Bulma who had Trunks who played a major role in 2 arcs.
July 9th 2018 will be remembered as the day Broly became canon.

She's like the only character who never had any type of point. If Bulma's father was the only one alive it would make no difference.

No, that theory has been going around for longer than DBZA has existed.

And no, Mrs Brief doesn't do anything of significance except be a parent and grandparent. She doesn't even have a canon name (Panchy is just what AT would call her if he gave her a name).
