Would you play a realistic looking Dragonball fighting Game?

Post by Anonymous Friend » Thu Sep 07, 2006 3:22 am

I played a maraton 8 hours of Tekken 5 at my home the other day. That night I had a dream about playing a Dragonball fighting game that had the same type of graphical detail and move list.

And my question is: What would you think of a Dragonball fighting game like this??

Doesn't the Budokai series already have relatively Tekken-ish fighting seeing how the majority happens close-up in a rather combo-ish fashion?

If you mean in a realistic graphics style, I'd pass, I'd most definitely pass. I don't even want to see a remote attempt at doing Son Goku's hair, or heck, Kuririn done in a realistic fashion. Toriyama's style is what makes the DB characters so charming.

I would play it, but that doesn't mean I'd like it. I'm open to new ideas so I wouldn't just dimiss it on principle, but I doubt I'd be impressed.

I'd play it if it is done by the right people. If it is done right it could be awesome. But if it's done wrong... *Shivers*
Currently playing: The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess (Wii), Jump Ultimate Stars (DS).

If the Budokai's had the same fighting mechanics as the Tekken series, along with all the chi attacks, such as the Kamehameha, having simple motions like the quarter circle forward's and backward's in the Street Fighter games, then I would've actually have enjoyed them. But that's just me.

If they can make a video game that is like what Hyper Dimension is to the other SNES DBZ games on the consoles today (like if the other SNES games are like the budokai series and the new one Hyper Dimension), then it wold be awesome.

And that's not what the topic is about, pay attention.

Next-Gen Budakai fighting games I'm just waiting for that. OHH! the DEATAIL!!! in charcter models will be great. Plus I hope they improve the fighting system and make it a little more different for each charcter.

But... you can only add so much detail without breaking the original artstyle. <.<;;

Well, there is that too, does one mean realistic by DB terms or realistic by real world terms? <.<;;

It was realistic in DB terms, because you could smack your opponent into rocks and boulders... not to mention a massive arena which you could fight underwater aswell :D

If its done right, yes. Jin almost has Vegeta's hair, so it is possible.

Actually, I think Vegeta's hairstyle is closer to Kazuya's.

Back on-topic...

Hell yeah, I would love to see a Tekken-style DB game in terms of move lists and game mechanics, but I'm not sure about the realisticness.

I mean, look at Cell, Freeza and especially Buu. Nothing Namco could ever do would do these characters justice in a realistic style.

Oh, and by the way, who thinks Kunimitsu looks like Grandpa Gohan? :P

I would give the game a try, but I think they have got it perfect with Budokai 1,2,3.

It could be intresting, but maybe a little slow.

Also, Toribot I think Wang looks a little more like him.

Jin's hairstyle is closest to Vegetto's, if ya ask me. Put the guy in black and orange gi, and you've got a near-perfect match, it looks.

Someone post a 'for-the-hell-of-it' comparison, plz.
Dragon Ball ended in 1997.

I meant with his mask on. :lol:

And yeah, without his mask, Gohan could double for Wang. :P
