But, Trunks's power up was not built up correctly. He may have deserve it, but it wasn't correctly written to make sense to why he got it or where it came from.

I'm a Gohan fan and I thought would be great for him. But you guys make some great points on this thread. UI should be for those fighters who dedicate their lives to martial arts. Gohan is sadly not one of those people. So no he shouldn't be getting UI any time soon

Gohan doesn’t deserve jack!! He does little to no training so its only natural that that reflects onto his skills and power as a fighter

It's not a matter of deserving it. We've seen Trunks' potential before, and this transformation did not only come out of nowhere, but it was never even given an explanation or name outside of external sources. The power boost associated with it is also nonsensical within the context of the series. The only asspull that comes close to this is Goku's sudden power level increase before he fights Frieza, but even that had an explanation.

What asspulls has Gohan had? I can't think of anything, unless you're referring to his hidden powers, which were present at the time of his introduction. The Old Kai doing that ritual isn't an asspull. Gohan was already training prior to this with the Z-sword. With or without the Old Kai's methods, he was going to be written as a stronger fighter. At the very least, we know exactly where this form came from and what it's supposed to do.

Gohan has been so thoroughly ruined as a character in Super that I could care less if he got UI or not. Just another toy to sell tbh.

KANIOUS Trunks never earned anything besides getting his ass beat by his father how is that in your words earning his power. None of Trunks asspulls were explained or deserved at least Gohan got his through explaination. Quit being a childish Trunks fanboy.

Trunks got the worst asspulls next to Frieza he never earned Ss rage a form he didn’t train for and came out of nowhere he went God without training at least Gohan got actual teachers. Spirit Bomb sword do I need to explain that move shouldn’t exist because Trunks had no training for it and it just came in thin air just those two things are the worst asspulls in all of DRAGONBALL and Trunks never earned those compared to Gohan who much more deserved those moves at least Gohans powers were explained and built up unlike Trunks.

Piccolo is a more likely candidate for attaining UI than Gohan purely based on his total dedication to martial arts (babysitting aside), unlike Gohan’s passive attitude.

UI Gohan would be pretty badass, tho.
