What exactly triggers that? With the exception of Android 17 and Android 18 who had bombs inside their bodies and could explode via remote control (then again, I think I remember Android 18 threatening to explode herself without that control (?)), how exactly does that technique work for everyone else (like the Saiyans, Namekuseijins, etc)?
The only reasonable explanation I can think of is a sudden "charge overload", if that makes any sense to you. The user charges so fast and so furiously their Ki that causes it to explode.
Do you have your own explanation? I'd like to know your opinion on this.

I think it's an universal ability based on expanding all your Ki outwards at the same time.

Anyone can do it. It's basically using all of your ki to make your body into a bomb.

I assume it's energy replacing matter similar to why the kaioken is risky.
