Masako Nozawa is a robot in a Star Wars show
https://www.crunchyroll.com/anime-news/ ... oice-casts
She plays T0-B1, a droid who wishes to be a Jedi Knight.
Considering Star Wars is reportedly one of Toriyama's influences on the later stage of DBZ, this feels right.

Dragon Ball is the Japanese equivalent to Star Wars so this is fitting.

I imagine OP doesn't mean literally but moreso due to cultural impact.Brodes wrote: ↑Wed Aug 18, 2021 12:48 amIn what way? I'm not saying you're wrong, I'm just intrigued.DBZAOTA482 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 17, 2021 9:02 pm Dragon Ball is the Japanese equivalent to Star Wars so this is fitting.

Even then, its not really a good comparison. Gundam is probably closer to the mark as a SW analog for Japan in terms of anime that impacted the culture in a similar way.kemuri07 wrote: ↑Wed Aug 18, 2021 1:24 pmI imagine OP doesn't mean literally but moreso due to cultural impact.Brodes wrote: ↑Wed Aug 18, 2021 12:48 amIn what way? I'm in the generation of fans that started with Toonami, so I totally empathize with the feeling of having "missed the party", experiencing disappointment, and wanting to experience it myself. But I can't, that's how life is. Time is a bitch. The party is over. Kageyama, Kikuchi, and Maeda are off the sauce now; Yanami almost OD'd; Yamamoto got arrested; Toriyama's not going to light trash cans on fire and hang from the chandelier anymore. We can't get the band back together, and even if we could, everyone's either old, in poor health, or calmed way the fuck down. Best we're going to get, and are getting, is a party that's almost entirely devoid of the magic that made the original one so awesome that we even want more.

I feel like years ago I heard some anime youtube person compare Garzey's Wing to the Prequels and I haven't been able to get that out of my head since then
