Opinion: There’s Enough Manga Material for a Season

Yeah, I remember that there were leaks back in 2019 about Super coming back. Would this not imply that they are not following the manga in any way, but rather Toriyama's outline (like they've always done)? Since in 2019 the Moro arc was still far from finished in the manga, so that means that Toei, while working on those episodes, couldn't have used the manga as inspiration, because it was still unfinished...

That's what I was asking. There wasn't anything available at the time aside from Broly and the ongoing Moro arc unless there were some outlines that Toriyama changed his mind about.

If they have been working on a new Super season since 2018-2019, we will probably see something that happens after Broly and before Moro. You would think that we would see something by now.

The Salad visit could be a harmless filler mini arc between the ToP and the Broly arc, or Broly and the Moro arc.

Maybe there's more to the post-ToP period, how Jiren deals with the beatdown he took and his trust issues, or the saiyagirls... something with Ribrianne perhaps.

My assumption is that they're waiting until DQ Dai ends sometime next October to debut 2uper while riding the hype of the new movie. At that point they'll have around 47 chapters they'll be able to adapt.

It is something very possible. In fact, it is possible that in 1 episode of the anime they adapt less than one episode of the manga.

Toei has been adapting One Piece for years at a rate of 1 episode of the manga = 1 of the anime. On many occasions it does not even manage to adapt 1 episode of the manga, for example last week in episode 1003 of One Piece 8 pages were adapted ...

1 episode of the One Piece manga is approximately 20 pages long. 1 episode of the Super manga has an average of 50 pages so Toei could adapt 1 episode of the manga into 2 of the anime (25 pages per episode which is already more than the rhythm of One Piece)

I think they should adapt 2 episodes of the manga into 3 of the anime adding things. With that rate they would have 70 insured episodes. That together with the typical filler mini sagas between large sagas (baseball episode, Arale, Krillin Goku island) can give to adapt about 85/90 episodes.

90 weeks issued with holidays = 24 months of adaptation = 24 new episodes of the manga.

24 episodes at the same commented rate are equivalent to 36 episodes in anime. This with its corresponding episodes between sagas can give about 40 episodes in total.

Back to the same. 40 weeks = 10 months = 10 new manga episodes = 15 new anime episodes.

With this discussed, we are talking about a total of 90 + 40 + 15 = 145 episodes.

As for a possible return, DQ Dai will end its broadcast for sure in less than 40 episodes, so by the end of September 2022 it will have ended.

To that we must add that Digimon Ghost Game should doubt at most 1 year of broadcast, so in October 2022 there should be a new series of Toei taking its place.

In case the series returned, if or if it is October 2022. In fact, something similar to 2015 may happen with Fukatsu no F and Super anime.

Super Hero premiered in April / May and in July announcement of the new anime to premiere in October.

The staff in large part should be that of DQ Dai to which should be added the great Yuya Takahashi along with his World Trigger staff since this anime will have ended at the beginning of the year and with the rhythm that the manga takes they will not be able to adapt to the anime more material in the short term.

One Piece isn’t the best model since the 1:1 chapter adaption that Toei has been doing since the end of Thriller Bark is widely disliked by One Piece’s fans because it slows the pacing to a crawl and the Super manga is far more shallow than One Piece when it comes to material. It’s to the point that no other adaption of a manga does this.
