Re: Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero Box Office Thread
We have a total actual now which is ¥1,637,203,960 ($12.1 million).
So it looks to have done ¥131 million from Monday to Friday and ¥232 million on the weekend. It's about ¥1 billion behind Resurrection F and Broly at the same point.
I can't recall if I said but here's the total ticket sales for the last three
Battle of Gods - 2.34 million
Resurrection F - 2.81 million
Broly - 3.07 million
And as I said Super Hero hit 1.21 million yesterday.
Monday looks to be around ¥22 million so ¥1.66 billion.

Wednesday saw a good uptick today, did almost 79% of last Wednesday. Practically the same as last Tuesday (the 21st) and did a tad better than Monday (the 27th).
Not sure why it'll probably a lot more than usual tomorrow now to balance it out some but still good for today.
That's about ¥23 million. It could be around ¥1.7 billion now. Give or a take a few million either way.

Re: Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero Box Office Thread
Thursday has actually done 83% of last Thursday's business. It did better than Tuesday.
I'm not sure why it was around 60% for Monday and Tuesday and then shot up to like 80% for Wednesday and Thursday.
I could only speculate that it's because on Tuesday they released that spoiler trailer which showed off all the surprises and that's gave it some sort of boost. Might not be that but it could well be.
Hopefully it helps keep the drop light for Friday and anything under a 40% fourth weekend drop would suffice.
So about ¥15 million for Thursday. Total around ¥1.71 billion.

Probably, I don't think they care too much about spoilers in Japan.Xeno Goku Black wrote: ↑Thu Jun 30, 2022 9:39 am Thursday has actually done 83% of last Thursday's business. It did better than Tuesday.

Re: Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero Box Office Thread
Well here's another surprise, Friday actually did better than last Friday, 6.2% better apparently.
I'm not entirely sure why this is happening, it isn't an exception though a few other films are up week over week too like Top Gun but it's good for this especially when Lightyear opened today in Japan which is competition for it I suppose.
That should make for about ¥28 million today and around ¥1.74 billion total.
The weekend should be interesting, I certainly don't expect it to increase like it did today but if by chance it can hit or do better even than a 27.5% drop then it would actually beat Broly's fourth weekend. I'd be happy enough with anything above ¥150 million though.
I think it's gonna be around ¥1.9 billion come Sunday.
Edit: Apparently it was because of national discount day.

Re: Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero Box Office Thread
Yeah things have just gone back to normal it seems. Saturday did 61.8% of last Saturday so that's around ¥70 million. Hopefully past ¥1.8 billion by now. Likely will miss out on ¥1.9 billion by Sunday but shouldn't be too far off, maybe ¥1.88 billion.
It has started to lose theatres now because of new openers so it was initially expected to drop around 40% for the weekend. I'd hope it would be lighter but that's alright. If Sunday saw the same 4% increase as last week it would be a fourth weekend of like ¥140-145 million, same ballpark as Battle of Gods fourth weekend.
I'm expecting this to finish in like the ¥2.25 - ¥2.35 billion range. On par with the first Cooler and Broly movies and the Bojack movie.

Re: Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero Box Office Thread
Unlike the previous two Sundays which saw an increase over Saturday by a few percent, this Sunday has actually increased by 27%.
Sunday did 75% of last Sunday. About ¥90 million.
According to Mimorin ticket sales this weekend is down 31.5% from last weekend which is actually pretty good.
That should make for a fourth weekend of ¥159 million based on that.
A total that I have as possibly being a bit shy of ¥1.9 billion. Could go over or below that when the actuals come out but I figure its around there.

No weekend actuals yet. Just the approx figures given of ¥1.9 billion and 1.4 million tickets sold.
Which I had sort of figured myself anyway. Should be out tomorrow though.
Monday was 61.5% of last Monday. Practically the same as last Tuesday so about ¥13 million.

Re: Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero Box Office Thread
I was checking the other films and they made from 500-700 million more yen after their fourth week. Super Hero still needs 800 million more to surpass Return of Cooler and become fourth overall DB film. Have there been any box office projections once it releases in other countries? I know some sites do that and they're usually not too far off.Xeno Goku Black wrote: ↑Mon Jul 04, 2022 2:32 pm No weekend actuals yet. Re: Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero Box Office Thread
I'd say that considering Battle of Gods and Super Hero have been making similar kinds of money since the third weekend then yeah Super Hero could make another ¥500ish million.
Broly did more but it did have New Years to take advantage of I'm sure.
I don't know about any kind of projections for other countries but I do know how much the other movies made in other countries and a bunch of websites for local box office.
After Japan and US the biggest market for these movies is Mexico.

Considering the incredible popularity Dragon Ball has had in France, I find it strange France isn't a big market. The manga is still selling and is the best seller ever and the anime was really popular when it aired in TV.Xeno Goku Black wrote: ↑Mon Jul 04, 2022 6:25 pm I'd say that considering Battle of Gods and Super Hero have been making similar kinds of money since the third weekend then yeah Super Hero could make another ¥500ish million.

Re: Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero Box Office Thread
Actuals came in.
Weekend - ¥154.8 million
Total - ¥1.903 billion
So the weekend was a tad lower than I expected but the weekdays were more (10% more).
¥2.5 billion finish is still expected apparently.
Tuesday did 87% of last Tuesday. So should be around ¥12.5 million. Total ¥1.93 billion.

Re: Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero Box Office Thread
Friday only did 41.6% of last week. That's a sharp week over week drop but last Friday did see an increase over the previous Friday because of discount day so it's gone back where it should be in a way. It was not the only film that dropped so much.
There's also some new releases such as Thor so it was out of the top 10 today, was #11.
I'm not sure how it's going to perform over the weekend now. It'll likely have have a much bigger increase that last week but it's probably gonna have a bigger weekend drop than the past couple weekends. I'd have liked ¥100 million but probably unlikely.
Today about ¥11 million again. Total around ¥1.97 billion.

Re: Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero Box Office Thread
Saturday ended being pretty impressive, actually did 82% of last Saturday's sales. It wasn't far off from equaling the tickets sales from Monday to Friday combined actually.
Based on last weekend that should account for about ¥57 million. Total maybe ¥2.02-2.03 billion. Definitely should have surpassed the ¥2 billion milestone now so that's something.
Not sure what to expect for tomorrow, last week had like a 20% jump but things may have been a bit off balance because of the Friday maybe. So it could just do the same as the previous two weeks and just have a couple percent increase.
Who knows but a pretty good chance it tops Broly's fifth weekend so long as it doesn't decrease tomorrow.

Sunday actually did increase, by 20% again. Did 77% of last Sunday.
Last weekend Mimorin ticket sales were at 78,100. This weekend they're at 61,900. That's only a 20.7% drop.
As last weekends gross was ¥154 million then this weekend it should be at ¥122 million, give or take a few million. Really could be higher than Broly's fifth weekend of ¥115 million.
Total could be around ¥2.09-2.10 billion.

Re: Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero Box Office Thread
From Crunchyroll
"Dragon Ball Super: SUPER HERO has been taking on the Japanese box office over the last 21 days and hasn't even needed to wish on the Dragon Balls to do well, with Mantan Web reporting that the superpowered flick has surpassed 2 billion yen (US$14.75 million) in ticket sales on the back of over 1.54 million tickets sold."
If the movie had made ¥1,903 million from 1.4 million tickets then with 1.54 million tickets it would be ¥2,093 million. It may not necessarily be that though.
That's now half the tickets of Broly anyway.
Monday ain't over but I'm not gonna make another post just for it. Today did 85% of last week. Maybe about ¥12 million so maybe past ¥2.1 billion.
