Your thoughts on non-filler padding in Dragon Ball

I'm not talking about Bulma-Frog hijinks, rather scenes present in the manga that were stretched to infinity and beyond when adapted for the anime (ruining them? Making them better?).

I can't think of any specific ones for Dragon Ball, but (light One Piece spoilers)
