A tribute trailer I've made on the entire DB anime trilogy.
Not yet on YouTube, I figured you guys should give the HQ version a go. Many thanks to Socar/Eric for hosting, here's the description for it that'll be on YouTube:
This took quite a while to finish, it's literally one giant tribute to the anime franchise of DragonBall, DragonBall Z, and DragonBall GT. Much thanks goes to a good friend named SaiyamanMS/Sato for help in about half the dialogue insertions. Yep, I said dialogue insertions, there's specific moments of my key favorite dub lines that're scattered through out the series. I hope you guys like this as much as I love it, I put all the work I could into making it and paying a big homage to my favorite anime of all time. Maybe a couple of ya' will find it similar to the awesome Doomrider project? Nonetheless, enjoy!
Comments would be much appreciated. YouTube link will be up sooner or later for those of you who'd rather have quality reduced streaming. Right-Click, Save-Target-As, and enjoy!
EDIT: Much thanks to Magica for these links:
Veoh upload.

Well, yeah, that was kinda designed to. I slipped a couple small nods in certain things through out the tribute. The "Is that okay?" exchange is mainly a comedic nod toward SSJ Kaboom's little meme from a while back, where he'd ask someone if something was okay, to which they would reply that it isn't.Duo wrote:(the "Is that Ok?" reference is funny, but feels utterly out of place).

For a person who encourages fans to legally purchase a product, you sure do use a crapload of downloaded footage.
I see a lot of videos from people on this message board who do the same thing. It really irritates me when they post a YouTube link to their video and I see that the footage used was the 176 MB DivX encoded/MP3 AVI file of the Burdock special that has been around for many, many years, and that was probably downloaded from LimeWire or KaZaA. (By the way, is KaZaA still around?)
Putting that aside, I didn't enjoy this video that much. The editing could have been a little better. The dialogue insertions throughout the video were really distracting, and in my opinion didn't add anything to the video itself. It wasn't comedic or dramatic in any way. The song used didn't fit Dragon Ball at all either. It didn't make it seem any more epic than it already is.
I understand that you came at this from a fans perspective, and so did I. To me it just wasn't what you were going for, just plain Dragon Ball. If I misunderstood what you were going for with your video, I apologize, I based my opinion off of this comment.

Anyway, I'm sorry if I'm being a bit too harsh, that is not my intention at all. I'm just giving my opinion, which by posting the video here, you have asked for.Conan the SSJ wrote:This took quite a while to finish, it's literally one giant tribute to the anime franchise of DragonBall, DragonBall Z, and DragonBall GT.

Keep in mind, I only resorted to that because some of us either don't have the available DVDs or just don't have a working DVD drive in our computers (the latter of which I don't). Downloaded material is only used for AMV/Parody/whatnot making, I never keep it beyond being finished with editing. I still kinda hit myself in the groin for having to do it, but it's better than making a screen-cap slideshow.SatoSky wrote:For a person who encourages fans to legally purchase a product, you sure do use a crapload of downloaded footage.I see a lot of videos from people on this message board who do the same thing.
Well, you were honest and spoke what ya' thought from your own point of view, what more can I ask for? The way you came off with it though, I'd almost think you had some kinda grudge against me, but only because I get that way sometimes. You didn't like my style of footage used, didn't like the dialogue insertions, didn't like Requiem for a Dream; clearly we have different tastes in likes. Hopefully it isn't that way with women.SatoSky wrote:Anyway, I'm sorry if I'm being a bit too harsh, that is not my intention at all. Cool. I understand that some people may not have the ability to rip DVD's. I used to make AMV's with downloaded footage as well, many many years ago. I was just pointing things out. Anyway, it's all just one man's opinion. And I'm not holding some grudge against you.
I'd also like to point out that I too, like women.
