Are they really that similar?

Are they really that similar?

Post by Supa Saiya-Jin Tullece » Mon Oct 08, 2007 6:41 am

I was looking at the Kanzenban covers just a second ago when I noticed a bunch of color inconsistencies. Now I realized Toei probably had to guess and check every time this happened because not every chapter was a color chapter, and they might be off.

However, I noticed something sorta' common. Yellow things, such as Dodoria and Tao Pai Pai's clothes, were both turned a pinkish purple color. Also, Kame senin's weighted shell, which is a tan color, was turned a shade of purple.

Is there actually a story to this or am I just over thinking it?

Every Namekian's "patches" were turned pink except Kami-sama. I believe his were left yellow.

Well I guess they wanted to make it more appealing to the eyes. That, or put their own stamp on it. Honestly, can you imagine a yellow Dodoria? I can't lol

I thought it was just all old nameks patches turned yellow?

Wasn't there a few old nameks with yellow patches in the namek saga, I can't remember?

Yeah, in the anime the patches turn yellow with age. Plus their skin turns a darker shade of green.

Wait then why did King Piccolo (one of the oldest Nameks) have pink patches?

If I'm not mistaken, his were yellow and turned pink when he regained his youth.

Karin-sama's fur colorings

Post by John Pannozzi » Fri Oct 19, 2007 7:52 pm

While we're on the subject on inconsistant Dragon Ball coloring schemes, I wonder what the heck is up with the color of Karin-sama's fur? In the TV series, it's white, in the group shot at the end of the manga, it's brown, and in Super DBZ (which I assume is based off of Kanzenban coloring schemes), it's blue! What's going on?

I have a nostalgic soft spot for the Dragon Ball 10th anniversary movie. Ditto the Buu saga.
