Oh, of course the spikey hair couldn't be easily reproduced, it would look silly in any case. That's why a movie is an adaptation of it's source material, not a panel-for-panel reproduction. It's the job of the screenwriter/director/etc. to take the material and pick out the parts of it that make a good movie.

The larger-than-life kung fu fights worked wonderfully in the Matrix movies, so it's not that people aren't interested in that stuff.

The problem here is that no one involved with this film seems to be interested in getting those good parts on screen, or showing action sequences to blow people's minds away. Rather, it seems to be solely designed to cash in on (what was at the time of liscencing) a hot commodity.

Hm... Even in Gackt's case...

Though, at the Vanilla live, when he appeared with the Hair, he kept telling his fans that he was Gackt, not a Saiyan, and not to confuse him with Vegeta.

No, the whole visual kei style would be fine for me...if it was really stiff.

Anyway, Asia Carrera isn't actually that bad. She is not a real busted, nasty porn star, and she's funny and intelligent, and ...I really have no problem with her.

She does have pretty dark skin tho, so I wonder who she would play. 18...wouldn't be so bad. =bites lip= I don't think she's the automatic ChiChi tho. And then again, even though she has dark skin, they could've cast her as whoever. I bet this is just something BASED off of DBZ...something that will be some grand interpretation or some bullshit like that. Who knows.

I still am wary and not quite convinced anything is actually going on though...

*Ehem* Anyway, I know the movie can be good so that's what I'm looking for. If you think it's going to suck then no matter how good it is, when it comes out, you'll still think it's bad. And everything can be done in the anime can be done in the movie, even the hair. They can't just make it a direct translation for the hair, but I'm damn sure they could imply Goku's hair style.

I agree. Look at Wolverine. There's no way they could exactly copy that hair onto a real-life version of him, so the films went for a style that hints at his comic-hair while still retaining an element of realism. And it worked very well, I thought.

Yeah, I think it's called Club Wild Side or something like that... but Tobey's like in his mid to late twenties and I think the movie's only like a '98 or something...

I have seen some of Heavy Metal 2000... it didn't interest me too much. Isn't it made by Kevin Eastman?

Nope, it was directed by Michael Coldewey and Michel Lemire. I think Eastman is involved with Heavy Metal and is married to Strain, though.
