Maron shares her name pun with Kuririn, sourcing directly the Japanese word for chestnut, マロン (maron). Kuririn's daughter, Marron, also comes from this same name pun, but elongates the first vowel with マーロン (māron).

Though bearing a striking resemblance to Bulma, Maron shares her design with a character in Akira Toriyama's short series, Savings Warrior Cashman.
