Maron shares her name pun with Kuririn, sourcing directly the Japanese word for chestnut, マロン (maron). Kuririn's daughter, Marron, also sources this same name pun, but elongates the first syllable with マーロン (māron).

Production

Though bearing a striking resemblance to Bulma, Maron shares her design with a character in Akira Toriyama's short series, Savings Warrior Cashman. The character remains unnamed in the original work, but receives the name "Shamble" in the the follow-up manga by Takao Koyama and Katsuyoshi Nakatsuru.
