V-Jump is a monthly video and card game anthology published in Japan by Shueisha under the Jump line of magazines. The manga series within the magazine target young male readers and are based on popular video games. The series are often spin-offs of the actual manga series on which their respective video games are based.
History
V-Jump began with three issues in a smaller, thicker format in a roughly-half-yearly schedule released in November 1990, June 1991, and November 1991.
This was followed by an additional four-issue preview/test run in November 1992, February 1993, March 1993, and April 1993.
The inaugural issue of the regular monthly run — the July 1993 issue — was released in May 1993.
