Muma are fictional creatures in the Japanese animated series Dragon Ball GT. Muma are first seen in episode 9, which debuted on Fuji TV on 24 April 1996.
Overview
The muma are fierce, carnivorous creatures that live deep inside the complicated, maze-like tunnels of Planet Bihe. Trunks, Goku, Pan, and Giru are lured there by the Para Para Brothers who have just stolen their Dragon Ball, and they must fight the muma in order to escape.[1] Ki attacks do not work against them, and physical attacks are not very effective either, so they settle for tying the muma into knots to defeat them.[2]
Name
"Muma" (ムーマ Mūma) is likely derived from the Japanese word for pit vipers, mamushi (マムシ).
Production

The muma were designed by Katsuyoshi Nakatsuru, the head character designer for Dragon Ball GT.[3]
