You may be right that they don't have inside knowledge (although VegettoEX did mention possibly knowing about Super Saiyan Blue before it happened). And in retrospect, the facebook page does seem to be teasing fans. But at the time, I would have considered it at least equally likely that the pictures were nothing more than an Easter reference. Although a Super tease would be a possibility, I personally wouldn't have been confident enough with that theory to incorporate it into the name of the picture. But, eh, who knows. Maybe one of them will post here to clarify (or not.....since they probably wouldn't want to tell people if they did know something).Jinzoningen MULE wrote: Read the first message. Sean Schemmel Reveals early 2017 DragonBall Super Dub Release Date
At Wizard World ComicCon in Pittsburgh Sean told everyone in his autograph line that Super will be premiering on basic cable early 2017. This is earlier than I expected but really makes sense if you think about it. It also brings up some possible questions
1. What Station will get it:
1. With it being an early 2017 release date this would line up with the end of Kai on Toonami for Cell. The End of Kai Cell saga will be either December 31 or January 7th depending on whether Toonami does a marathon. This really lines up with Sean's Early 2017 date. It is possible that the Buu Saga begins on this date instead which if this is the case possibility 2
2. Nickelodeon begins showing Super when the new year begins which also would make sense.
If Sean's information is accurate it eliminates the possibility of Super being on Disney XD or Nicktoons because that is not considered Basic Cable.

Re: Sean Schemmel Reveals early 2017 DragonBall Super Dub Release Date
I don't know which one it'll be, but it's either Toonami or Nick. Maybe they'll bump up the show times of Toonami earlier? Only problem with that is the more violent shows would come on before midnight.
Re: Sean Schemmel Reveals early 2017 DragonBall Super Dub Release Date
Basic cable, eh? So this pretty much does mean that it wouldn't be two of the four options I suggested: Nicktoons and Disney XD. However, like someone above me said - I still had two other options that I mentioned in previous posts: Nick and Toonami (unless Cartoon Network surprises us).
Nick: This actually lines up pretty well when you consider Super's upcoming 2017 toyline and the fact that the toyline is targeted towards KIDS and Nick is a KIDS channel. Also, originally - I was really rooting for Nick to air it until I found out about some of their cringe content. But hey, if Dragon Ball Super can air alongside a new hit cartoon like The Loud House, it can't be all that bad. And Nick also airs Miraculous Ladybug (a show that has a Bandai America toyline and is a Toei Animation production, like Dragon Ball Super). Besides, Dragon Ball Super is already airing on Nick in a way haha: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iKXyPOMER2I
Toonami: As for Toonami, I'm confused because if it's airing early 2017 - Then what happens to Kai's Buu Saga? Does it go straight to home release or streaming? But yeah, I figured Toonami would also be airing an uncut DB Super because Dragon Ball Z Kai was able to air on both Nicktoons and 4Kids (so it's not like Toonami and Nick can't both air DB Super, right?). Only difference is Cartoon Network (Toonami) and Nick are closer to each other than 4kids and Nicktoons were, but other than that - It should be fine.
So all in all, I guess it won't be the worst thing ever if Super airs on Nick. In fact, it's smart on Funimation/Toei's part. Nick can draw in NEW fans while Toonami would be able to draw the EXISTING fans. Besides, Kai aired on Nicktoons so I always thought it'd be nice if Dragon Ball can get more exposure if it aired on main Nick. And perhaps this will be the case next year? Only time will tell. Also, I predicted the early release date when I compared Super's dub announcement to Kai's dub announcement (Kai's dub was announced in February 2010, revealed for Nicktoons in March 2010 and aired May 2010 on Nicktoons) in one of my posts so yeah, i'm hyped

Is basic cable just Nick and Toonami then?

I highly doubt it'll be on Cartoon Network, it'd take away a valuable half-hour from their daily Teen Titans Go marathons.SaiyanGod117 wrote:I hope it doesn't air on Toonami I want it to either be Nickelodeon or Cartoonnetwork.

Looking forward for the dub!
Also, in Israel, Super aird uncensored.. So maybe it will air also uncensored in Nicktoons?

Maybe Cartoonnetwork will pull some strings...just maybe because that 11:30 time slot on Toonami won't be getting Super too much exposure.Lance Freeman wrote:I highly doubt it'll be on Cartoon Network, it'd take away a valuable half-hour from their daily Teen Titans Go marathons.SaiyanGod117 wrote:I hope it doesn't air on Toonami I want it to either be Nickelodeon or Cartoonnetwork.

Welp. Sean just answered someone on twitter that Satan will be called Satan in the uncut dub. So pretty much just confirmed we gonna get another broadcast edited dub. Which then implies it won't be on Toonami...

Does the 4Kids block still exist even though they don't? So much joke potential if they censor it that badly again. "Piccolo's a Saiyan, just like Raditz!"Baggie_Saiyan wrote:Welp. It actually doesn't... It has various censors just like the Portugese dub.Yalos wrote:Looking forward for the dub!

Re: FUNimation dub of Dragon Ball Super Officially Confirmed
Because I pre-write every single news post ever. This is standard practice. It's not like we DIDN'T expect FUNimation to announce the show at some point. The first instance I saw of them possibly doing something to tease it, I started pre-writing the post, and I just kept slowly updating it as the months went on. That's why those images are dated from then, and that's why it's such a comprehensive article compared to the last-minute "OH SHIT UHH HERES A PRESS RELEASE I GUESS?!?" posts from other sites.thaman91 wrote:Notice the year, month, and picture titles. These pictures are in the March 2016 directory for the website and are titled "funi_super_fb_tease_[1/2/3]". Were these pictures named this way back in March? If so, how did the Kanzenshuu folks know that they were supposed to be a Super tease? Do they have some kind of inside knowledge???
I also have tons of pre-written posts (with corresponding images) that get trashed because something changes and they're either no longer relevant or correct. You never see those, because you never see those.
There is no conspiracy, and we do not enter into embargoed news or review timeframes with any organization. We report news when we have the necessary independent confirmations on the record, and/or when (like in this case) FUNimation just announces it all on their own.

Okay, thanks for clarifying and for the insight into the website posts. And sorry for sounding too much like a crazy conspiracy theorist; I think I just get this way when there are recent announcements or looming future announcements hahaVegettoEX wrote: Because I pre-write every single news post ever. "Dragon Ball Super on Basic Cable" Says Sean Schemmel
I REALLY hope its not Cartoon Network. Many do but not me, I really feel they would bury the show with their horrible scheduling. I really wanted Disney XD OR Nicktoons to get it but as those arent basic cable, the only choice that would do right by the show is Main Nick.

Nick is such a craptastic channel now. I'd much prefer Cartoon Network. They should put it in their Thursday night block of cartoons or on Toonami.
Currently watching: My Hero Academia
Last watched: Akame Ga Kill, Hokuto No Ken, Hokuto No Ken 2, Hunter X Hunter
Quote if I were to Hakai someone: "Omae Wa Mou Shindeiru. Hakai!"

They can stick it in Steven Universe's timeslot during their next 6 month hiatus.
Re: "Dragon Ball Super on Basic Cable" Says Sean Schemmel
Bad idea. I would say Satirday night and move shows like Pokemon and Sonic Boom to Saturday night for an action/anime block. (And CN somehow gets Yu-Gi-Oh from Nicktoons)GodKaio-Ken wrote:Nick is such a craptastic channel now. I'd much prefer Cartoon Network. I really dont get why so many want CN to get it. Its simply not happening. And even if they did, They hate anime. Just ask Pokemon which airs at a god forsaken hour and only gets 800K viewers.
