Dragon Ball Z. Obviously, I haven't seen DB (so you may discount the vote if you so desire), but I find it less interesting than Z for reasons I've touched on in other threads.

Not to state the obvious, but how do you know? You haven't seen it.

He probably thinks it is based on things he's read.

Yep. Based on what I've read here and elsewhere, it doesn't quite scream out to me. I may watch it someday, but I'm not particularly planning on it.

So cool intense fights and interesting characters don't scream out to you? I don't get it. If someone likes something so much as to join a forum to continually talk about it, why would you not want to see it all, especially in light of the dividing line between DB and DBZ is almost arbitrary? I can no reiterate this enough IT'S ALL ONE STORY!

Some of the blame can be put on the companies behind the franchise cause they act like it literally doesn't exist, they market Z, GT & Super but they act like DB never happened.

I could understand if it was released after Z and wasn't any good but not only is it the reason we have Z but it's actually good, weather it's watched before or after Z or even on its own yet they don't even acknowledge it as part of the franchise for some unknown reason.

I wonder how thing would've turned out if they didn't rename it after Piccolo and instead continued to Raditz with DB 154.
July 9th 2018 will be remembered as the day Broly became canon.

Dragon Ball.

I like all the Dragon Ball series, but the original will always hold a special place in my heart. Plus, it's much easier to watch DB. Z is so stuffed with filler and other padding, there's a lot of time in the Saiyan and Freeza sagas that just drag. Meanwhile, while the Red Ribbon arc does get a little tiring in DB, it never stagnates to the extent Z often did.
Plus, all of the nostalgia.
The point of Dragon Ball is to enjoy it. Never lose sight of that.

I WANT to cast my vote for Dragon Ball. It's soooooo much better than Z and I love it just as much.

But it's favorite, not best.

I have to vote for DBZ. DAMN YOU NOSTALGIA GOOGLES!

After the votes, Kanzenshuu members favorite series is... Dragon Ball! 16-4 vs. DBZ. It was pretty obvious to me. Yay!

A bit late to this since apparently it's already been settled, but whatever.

1) Dragon Ball Super
2) Dragon Ball Z
3) Dragon Ball
4) Dragon Ball GT
5) Dragon Ball Z Kai
6) The Final Chapters

I'm pleasantly surprised by this result.

Now, everyone who hasn't seen it, go watch OG Dragon Ball. :P

1.Dragon Ball Z- Between the well written Saiyan arc and the awesome and pumping battles and emotions throughout the later arcs, I was given so much inspiration, true joy, and adrenaline in my life. Maybe cheesy, maybe not so complex or even not amazingly explored concepts or well-written stories at times (looking especially at you Buu arc), but I can never stop loving this series. Cell arc is my guilty pleasure and I will never stop loving it till the day I die. Fight me.
1.5.Dragon Ball - An Amazing, captivating story throughout. So much Variety... Charming me in the first arc, and writing truly endearing characters. Well written battles, tournament arcs and different themes in different arcs... also life lessons learned and explored (in the first half mainly)... 23rd Tenkaichi has a special place in my heart.
3.Dragon Ball GT - The ending. pretty cool, concepts and such... ssj4 still looks good in video games... I except it as just something fun and non-canon.
6.Dragon Ball Super - quite a disappointment. I imagine it as being non-cannon and just a series of OVAs. Slice of life episodes - "fillers" are the best. Still exciting to watch Dragon Ball every week and gave me some great times with friends. Also, Childhood dream realized (?)
7. Dragon Ball Z Kai - The quality of its release and animation. Really cool watching the voice actors I love so much have a well-written script. Still, feels unnatural and I don't consider this the definitive way to watch the series by no means. I would rather read the manga. Honestly rather just watch Z in Japanese... but fun to compare scenes.
8.Dragon Ball Z Kai the Final Chapters - Same here. But why is the home release only in 16:9 :(

Whoops, it seems its already been settled...
