Was "Jan Janka My Way" ever translated?
It just occurred to me, it's the only one of Vegeta's three image songs that hasn't had a translation of some sort.
Anyone know where I could find a translation of the lyrics?
I've listened to it and it always sounded a bit peppy for a Vegeta song; so I'm curious to know what it's about.

Hi, well I took a look around online to see if anywhere had a decent kana (or even romaji) set of the lyrics from which I could try and translate into English (despite being probably far less capable than some others here ^^), but the only version I could find was in ridiculously poor romaji which I can understand only about 25% of. To be honest I don't think anyone would be able to make heads or tails of what the romaji is supposed to mean, and it's exactly the same on about 20 different sites I found. Sorry about that...

That's mostly because "Janjanka" is incorrect. It's "Janjaka My Way."
Anyway, I've never really heard this song before. Just from looking from the lyrics alone, it looks pretty "peppy." ("Oh-Baby! Let's go! Burnin' your heart")
EDIT: By the way, if no one posts a translation, or at the least, a romaji transcription of the lyrics, I will...when I get time @_@

Here's my translation of "Janjaka My Way":
Continuously Do Things My Way
Words by Natsumi Watanabe
Music by Katsuki Maeda
Arrangement by Akira Sasaki
Vocals by Sachi Hanaoka
Continuously Do Things My Way
Everybody come on!
Open a treasure chest of courage!
Continuously Do Things My Way; put more of your heart into it
Do a righteous deed!
A storm approaches, bringing clouds,
Trapping the sun
I'll wipe away your tears
Before it begins to rain
Summon up Ah-han Ah-han
All of your strength tucked away
In the depths of your heart Ah-han Ah-han
And shine POWER
Continuously Do Things My Way
Everybody come on!
Open a treasure chest of courage!
Continuously Do Things My Way; put more of your heart into it
Do a righteous deed!
I can't help it! I can't stand it!
My hot heart rings Jin Jin Jin
The wind howls, the earth trembles,
And the rain is pouring down
Saying that you're discouraged is such a cruel joke
We're sure to emerge victorious
I'm sure that tomorrow Ah-han Ah-han
P-Kan It'll clear up
I promise you Ah-han Ah-han
There will be a smile on your face
Continuously Do Things My Way; Everybody Shinin'
Do away with your sorrow
Continuously Do Things My Way; put even more of your heart into it
Seize the ecstasy of a victory!
I'm not reckless! I won't stop!
My burning heart rings Jin Jin Jin
~The tomorrow after your tears
Should be brighter than today
Oh-Baby Let's go! Burnin' your heart~
Continuously Do Things My Way
Everybody come on!
Open a treasure chest of courage!
Continuously Do Things My Way; put more of your heart into it
Do a righteous deed!
I can't help it! I can't stand it!
My hot heart rings Jin Jin Jin

Holy shit - Cool Cool Dandy is sung by Ryo Horikawa?! Hoy monkey balls! Anyone have a translation? Or do we need Mike to start whipping Julian again?Jerseymilk wrote:Yep, the third one is "Cool Cool Dandy". It can be found on the first disc of the Neverending Story set, DBZ Hit Song Collection 12, or the first disc of the DBZ Complete Song Collection-Volume 3 set.

I checked in the lyrics section. Cool Cool Dandy is sung by Shin’ichi Ishihara(I have no idea). I wish there were more songs sung by Ryo Horikawa. I like his voice.desirecampbell wrote:Holy shit - Cool Cool Dandy is sung by Ryo Horikawa?! Hoy monkey balls! Anyone have a translation? AFAIK that is what an image song is. Cool Cool Dandy could be one too, I just didn't know. I didn't know about Janjaka My Way eitherStrongbad456 wrote:I made a mistake. When you said image song, I thought they were songs sung by Vegeta(Like Cooking Hell). Usually when the words image song are used, I usually take it that the song is sung by the character(Like the One Piece image songs).

No, I'd say only half the time that's true with image songs. Songs sung by characters tend to be referred to more as "character songs" amongst the circle of fans I hang out with. But ya I guess I can see where that's misleading. Really though, almost all of DB and DBZ's songs are image songs in a way. Note that I didn't include GT in there. As much as I love the music in it too, the songs are all random J-pop, mostly about romance.Strongbad456 wrote:I made a mistake. And sorry for confusing anyone about thinking Horikawa sang the song. XD The majority of DBZ's music is sung by about four artists. Hironobu Kageyama, KUKO, YUKA, and Shin'ichi Ishihara. There's a few others that are featured from time to time, like Ushio Hashimoto(who sung Romatikku Ageru Yo), but those I named above are the main ones.

B-kun: "What?"
Jerseymilk: "I see Fangirls."

Cool Cool Dandy
Lyrics: Miki Fuudou
Composition: Kazuya Daimon
Arrangement: Kenji Yamamoto
Song: Shin'ichi Ishihara
When I walk, lightning streaks by
When I speak, the ground starts to quake
When I think, morning becomes night
When I touch, rubble starts to shine
Before long, my claws will be digging into
your back before you even know it.
*Cool Cool Dandy
That's me
Powerful Dandy
Hoho hoho hoho!
Cool Cool Dandy It's no dream
Now, be gone at once!
What I have my sights on is an endless wasteland
What I have my hopes on is a baron world
Your body will all just swiftly start
to melt before you even know it.
**Cool Cool Dandy
That's me
Powerful Dandy
Hoho hoho hoho!
Cool Cool Dandy Even history
Oh! Change at once!
*Repeat
**Repeat
Cool Cool Dandy
Powerful Dandy
Cool Cool Dandy It's no dream
Now, be gone at once!

Awesome. Heh, I always thought that second chorus said "I'll kiss you soft, now!"
Now - for fanart!

Whoa! I didn't know "Cool Cool Dandy" was a Vegeta song.
Anyone know where I could listen to it? (*Has never heard this song*)
I was thinking of a different 3rd (now 4th apparently) Vegeta song called called "Ai no Barrado no you ni": http://www.powersugoi.net/tingdong/song.php?song=41

The DaiezEX music listings have it as Ai wa Barâdo no Yô ni ~Bejîta no Têma~ (Love is Like a Ballad: Vegeta’s Theme) on "DBZ Complete Song Collection - Volume 4: Eien no Yakusoku" (3 CD Set; Set 4 of 4) and "DBZ Movie 12 Single: Saikyô no Fyûjon" and again on "DragonBall Z - The Best Selections" but with a sub credit to Shin Ôya (singer? composer?).Chuquita wrote:I was thinking of a different 3rd (now 4th apparently) Vegeta song called called "Ai no Barrado no you ni": http://www.powersugoi.net/tingdong/song.php?song=41

Just curious, where can we find info on which songs are image songs for characters? There are ones like "Ai wa Ballad no you ni" and "Koi no Nazonazo" that explicitly say things like "Vegeta's theme" and "Vegeta and Bulma's love theme", but looking at the Complete Song Collection lyric books I don't see them saying anything about "Janjaka My Way" or "Cool Cool Dandy" being character related.

I always knew there was a reason I liked Cool Cool Dandy... XP Usually animelyrics.com has translations, but beware, it is fans posting and translating most of the time. I wish I knew more about the music to tell you the truth, and I agree, Horikawa should do more singing. He has a pretty voice. ^^
Vegeta needs some love. <3

Umm... "Cool Cool Dandy" is sung by Shin'ichi Ishihara, not Ryo Horikawa.
That is all. Carry on.

I didn't know "Cool Cool Dandy" was an image song for Vegeta. That song is also on the Dragonball z Remix 1/2 special CD. Sorry if i got the words in the wrong order.
