Perfect timing! I was just wondering to myself how I was going to force myself to put away my laundry. The podcast usually helps immensely in buffering the pain of household chores! ^_^

Oh my, I completely forgot/did not realize you didn't have the notes last time!! I quite enjoy them, espicially learning that Cell called Piccolo by 'Piccolo Daimaô'!

I can think of four people that haven't been in video games yet. Abo, Kado, Aka, and of course, Tarble. Sure they were in an animated feature that never left Japan, but it was officially subtitled in English, so... ::shrugs::

The translation notes are my favorite part of the manga review, I just assumed you guys didn't have any significant ones for that volume.

I'm glad you warned me about Origins 2, I really disliked the 1st one so I kind of had a hunch the sequel wasn't going to be so hot.

There are plenty of characters that haven't been in the games before. Sure, Appule and Freeza Soldier were generic, but there are still many unused characters that could potentially be awesome. I bet Mike would change his tune a bit if a game were to include Nikki and/or Ginger. Any character that rips swords from their own limbs and wields them in battle is a welcome addition in a fighting game.

I never finished Origins 1 either. ^^; I tried to play it again recently, but it just has too much of a frustrating/monotonous feeling to it, which is a shame because there are so few games that cover early DB stuff that are readily available for me to buy. :(

I have a feeling I probably won't be picking up Origins 2.
Any word on that bonus NES game in the U.S. and European versions?

Dragon Quest 9 however, grabbed my interest a couple weeks back when I was looking for a new DS game and I'm thinking of picking it up. I bought DQ 8 for the PS2 a few years back on sale, but somehow never got around to playing it. That sort of thing never happens to me with my DS though. This would be my first Toriyama-character-designed not-Dragon-Ball game if I do purchase it. The character-creation feature especially interests me; I think this could be as close as I could get to playing DBO, at least for now. I think Attack of the Saiyans was good at getting me back into the swing of the genre. I was thinking of Pokémon, but I figured if I'm going to play one of those after so many years, I might as well wait til Black/White come out and get the highest "returning after a long time" shock as I can. :3 (For the record the last one I played was Yellow and the last one I completed was Blue. If I could stick Yellow into my DS, I'd try to finish it.)

Funny thing about DQ 9 and the character creator, if you choose, you can create and play looking like Buu arc Gohan; I find that hilarious. X3

If the special characters ARE those from the Jump Tour special, I wonder how they're going to explain them to those who aren't aware the special exists yet.
And speaking of the special I am so disappointed there's no DB listed on this year's Jump Tour's itinerary. T_T Not even any OP; how boring in my opinion. :(
(Still hoping for an animated 2-D DBZ movie from Toei with the Kai branding on it.)

Everytime I hear you're going to do a panel at a con, I always think would make it a podcast episode like when you did the manga history and that quiz contest. Why don't you do it for every panel you are doing or plan to do?

That is basically what happened. At the time I was busy with graduation stuff, and there didn't seem to be anything interesting enough in volume 34 to really bother with.

I never even beat the demo. I couldn't beat Sgt. Metallic. I must really suck. :(

I loved Attack of the Saiyans, though.

I'm totally with you on DB origins, my little sister has played it way more than I have and I think she's only on the 2nd act or so, which clearly indicates she hasn't played it much either. hah It's funny because I also bought DQ8 about a year ago and never managed to get very far or play it much. I too am very interested in DQ9, the story seems quite interesting and I am loving the look of the characters and the customization. I also remember seeing angel-looking character that strongly resembled Tenshinhan. I'm just hoping they didn't decide to "spice up" the localization with that whole "real-world dialect" garbage they pulled on DQ4 and 5 for DS.
