It wasn't originally there.

Are you certain? If I look very close at the second panel in the chapter where Chichi and Gyumao are heading for Kame House, it looks like he has a tiny cigarette in his mouth to me. I doubt Viz edited it in, but maybe it's something else. It's the only panel you see it though.

You flatter me! Or do you just mean I had the personality and intonation down?

I give up. I just ripped it out of the episode.

Now all we need is fanart of the Chipmunks with DBZ hair.

EDIT:... so which otakugen episode was this on?

Wondering if the song somehow became more ear piercing in mono or by whatever conversion process Mike used (and whether I should maybe have sent him the uncompressed WAV instead of the converted mp3), I listened back-to-back to the part of the podcast with the song, my original recording, and "Alvin's Harmonica" (from 1959), and they're all pretty much equally assaulting on the tympanic membranes. Guess that's just a side effect of having imaginary rodents belt out a song. I also noticed a few times when I bumped into the microphone :oops:
Kuhan wrote:There were a couple of things wrong with the song. Mainly that it shouldn't have been all 3 Chipmunks singing the entire time...
Of course, the same could be said of the 1983 version of "Witch Doctor" :D

I'm working on a little something, although...ah, why spoil the surprise?

Show 196 (3/11/09) and there was a follow up of sorts in Show 203 (4/29/09)

It should've been more like the movie version of Witch Doctor

e.g.
"Simon":
Hikaru kumo o tsukinuke Fly Away (Alvin & Theodore: Fly Away)
Karadajû ni hirogaru panorama

"Theodore":
Kao o kerareta chikyû ga okotte (Alvin & Simon: okotte)
Kazan o bakuhatsu saseru

"Alvin":
Toketa kôri no naka ni
Kyôryû ga itara tamanori shikomitai ne

All three:
CHA-LA HEAD-CHA-LA
Nani ga okite mo kibun wa heno-heno kappa
CHA-LA HEAD-CHA-LA
Mune ga pachi-pachi suru hodo
Sawagu Genki-Dama...Sparking!

Simon:
Sora o kyûkôka Jet Coaster (A+T: Coaster)
Ochite yuku yo panikku no sono e

Theodore
Keshiki sakasa ni naru to yukai sa (A+S: yukai sa)
Yamasae oshiri ni mieru

Alvin:
Nayamu jikan wa nai yo
Dokoka ni hisomu “bikkuri!” ni aitai kara

All three:
CHA-LA HEAD-CHA-LA
Atama karappo no hô ga yume tsumekomeru
CHA-LA HEAD-CHA-LA
Egao urutora zetto de
Kyô mo (S+T:) ai-yai-yai-yai-yai

(A:) CHA-LA HEAD-CHA-LA

All three
Nani ga okite mo kibun wa heno-heno kappa
CHA-LA HEAD-CHA-LA
Mune ga pachi-pachi suru hodo
Sawagu Genki-Dama...Sparking!

Still, it was awesome.

It could have been something like that. Or it might just be the crappy speakers I was using. It was the lines right before the "Chala Head Chala" chorus that stood out. It was almost like there was some feedback going on there, but I know very little about audio to be honest.

Well, I certainly would have no objections if Mike offered it in the feed.

So, now that you guys have a house, when Julian moves back to the US, you can charge him rent to live in your basement! It's perfect for both parties! Julian gets a place to live (and no chance of getting kicked out) and Mike gets money and always has someone to podcast with!
