This week, on Dragonc Ball Kai!!

Dragon Ball comic covered: #313-eleven and a half pages of #314
Dragon Ball Z anime covered: #91-92's eyecatch

Gokû's nightmare had the obligatory Requiem that plays during every death and the Twenty-Times Kaiô-ken was neat...but Dragon Ball Z did it much better, musically.

We also got naked Vegeta, for any females lurking in this thread.

Next week, the Genki-dama! I have to wonder if we're going to get all of #93 next week. IF such is true, I suspect Kai #47 will cover #94-95...

Is that still going to be their only "emotional" song during the Buu arc?!

I know Kai is shorter, but in my opinion, there should be at least 6 new songs newly used for some major events.....
Like that track, altough I like it - 08. The Formidable Warrior, The Saiyan is used in every action scene so I'm annoyed pretty much....
Whatewer Yamamoto, I don't care anymore. I'm pretty much pissed off with Kai, it's for me like some AMV with custom images and animations drawn by then people. If they weren't redrawing the scenes, it should be better.

I was pretty much excited and pleased with Saiyan arc in Kai, but I really can't stand Namek and Freeza arc, those redrawn's and same music we heard hundred times before.........
I'll wait for super saiyan and will quit watching Kai after that, I already didn't saw 2 episodes before and I don't want to.

Not a bad episode actually, I've enjoyed it...they have redrawn the vegeta dream scene entirely....(guess the animator is a huge fangirl), and the 20x Kaioken redrawn scenes were alright, although in one of them it looked like they forgot to draw Goku's face outline, lol.

I was hoping that they won't use the dream scene of Vegeta, since Goku says "he's not a Saiya-jin" and it contradict what he said after Vegeta's death..plus the scene was much more powerful in Z with the godly music.

So Vegeta was entirely redrawn?

This pretty much covered chapter 41 of the TV Animation Comics, The Monster Freeza!! which ends volume 2 of the SSJ/Freeza arc. Kai episodes 46 and 47 will likely cover chapters 42 and 43 each. The Freeza arc ends at chapter 47 in the comics.

It looked to me like they redrew the entire naked Vegeta scene.
And they did a really good job too! Like with the Ginyu introduction redrawing.

*Wonders why all the redrawn scenes can't look that high quality*.

I didn't even notice that they redrew the nude Vegeta scene o.o So good job! I was very surprised they left it in there.
Lunch was also missing from Goku's dream this time. XD

They probably gave up on trying to draw her, given how she looks in the credits sequence. XD

The new 20x Kaioken scene was pretty awesome, imo.

A huge improvement over the original. I love that the screen shakes when Freeza is holding back the Kamehameha, making it look like there's actually force behind it. The music worked with the scene, too.

Lol no. I agree that the second frame and the rest are redrawn pretty nicely, but the first scene was ruined because of Goku's awkward face, and there was more kaioken energy in the original than here.

With the way you take screen shots, LOL yes, they're a huge improvement over those. :P

Oh my!

I'm sorry that my little pic didn't meet your screen taking requirements, Hujio. Perhaps I should try harder next time to please your eyes.

Hey man, all I'm saying is that posting poorly encoded and pixelated comparison pics and then saying they look better... Well, it doesn't really help your point out any. This has nothing to do with my uptight requirements, but more to do with your examples not backing up your claim.

I was just poking fun at the fact that you were all, "LOL, those don't look as good as these". And then proceeded to post crappy crappy comparisons, that don't in any way validate your laughing at Supa Saiya-Jin Tullece. If you can laugh at someone else, why can't I laugh at you because of the irony?

It's odd how they've pulled scenes involving Lunch, despite her being in the credits.

It's just like 1996 FUNimation all over again!

Seriously though, I enjoyed this episode. Looked and sounded great. Though the switching between animation teams within episodes always bugged me.

Anyone else think that the music during the Vegeta scene fitted pretty nicely?

Well, I did like the music in this episode, and the shaking when Freezer tries to stop the Kame Hame Ha is pretty cool.

The reanimated Kaioken x20 isn't bad but I loved how in the original version the screen sort of ripples from its awesomness like its so epic you puny human TV's can't handle this kind of power.

EDIT

Ok after rewatching the Kai episode there is ripple onscreen but its not as epic as the original.
