"Bojack Unbound" DVD Freezing Problem

Post by medvedenko2009 » Fri Feb 10, 2012 8:48 pm

I bought the original Funimation DVD of this movie and around 28:00-31:00 it always freezes, so Amazon sent me a replacement. I checked it and this time it froze at around 40:00. I want to know if this is a common problem or just bad luck?

BTW, both discs looked brand new, (with) not even one scratch.

Never had any problems with the single, myself. Have you tried other DVD players?

Yes - my PS3, friend's PS3, and my PS2 couldn't even read both DVDs.

I have owned both the uncut and cut version of this DVD and never had any problems.

I had this problem back when it first came out. Took it back and got another copy and haven't had the problem since.

If its in near mint condition i don't see why its freezing. Maybe they aren't brand new and have been exposed for a very long time. That can make DVDs with no scratches freeze up and not work because they haven't been in their cases.

Bulma: Of course! I'm not gonna pull a Frieza and screw it up!
Master Roshi: Bulma, I think Frieza failed because he wore too many clothes!

OK,so I tried it on my laptop and it played fine. For some reason it froze on my PS3 and my friend's PS3. I would really appreciate it if any of you guys with a PS3 can test it and let me know if you get the same problems.

I'll try to check on my PS3 later today if no one beats me to it, but I think I've watched this disc on an old fat PS2 without issue in the past. Obviously PS2 is a different console, but it's older and known for being finicky with some DVDs (including some FUNimation discs). It's possible there's just something about this disc that PS3s don't like.

My copy has a similar problem when playing on my PS2, but it works on my laptop so I never bothered replacing it.

Well, I just played it on my PS3 from beginning to end no problem. It's definitely the old 4:3 single with alternate angles and whatnot. I bought it brand new from RightStuf back in 2007.

If it helps, I have an 80 GB fat PS3, and I watched the disc in Japanese with all the relevant angles and subtitles.

Maybe it's an issue with certain pressings of the disc, or certain models of PS3.
