Nakagawa Shouko - ROMANTIKKU Ageru Yo!

Post by Suupaa Gohan 2 » Mon May 14, 2007 10:44 am

I'm bored right now (last day of school and my final isn't until 12:30, so I'm in the computer lab) and I headed over to Sony Music Japan to watch some of the top 24 video samples...

I'm wondering if anyone else is aware of Nakagawa Shouko's new cover version of ROMANTIKKU Ageru Yo!.

I was pretty much just listening and doing other things in the background when I suddenly heard the VERY familiar melody...though the fact that she's covering the DB ending theme isn't the odd part (she's known to be a DB fan, as it is). It's the video...

She's basically parodying the actual ending video for the majority of the entire thing. It's just...so bizarre...to see her dressed up like Bulma sitting in the windowsill and watching the rain...just...^^;

For anyone interested, here's a YouTube link to the video in question.

Nakagawa Shouko - ROMANTIKKU Ageru Yo!

Yeah, I rarely have time to come around here and post these days (I'll probably have more during the summer), but I just...felt compelled to mention this ^^;

If that massive looking dragonradar was not in it then i would never of thought she was trying to be bulma.

I remember dis shit. SG2 showed it to me the other night.

Frickin' creepy, ain't it? C'mon, Coconut, you don't even need the Dragon Radar to tell that it's all about the Bulma; just look at the original closing! So many things sync up:

A) The scene where she's looking out the window at the rain. Same pose, same clothes and pracitcally the same camera angle.
B) The scene where she's standing in the open expanse. If you somehow ignore the Dragon Radar itself, then take note of the shot directly afterward where she lowers her hand to stop looking at it; it almost exactly mirrors the original.
C) The scene where the motorcylcle glove is being fit onto her hand. It's only a two second shot, but it's in the anime as well.
D) The biking, although it becomes much more excessive than in the original closing . . .

All this girl didn't do is frickin' dye her hair!!

SG2 and me must convert the non-believers.

That ok i understand, i find it hard to look in the mirror without kissing myself.
8)

Anyway if you've not seen the original (like me)
then it's hard to tell that she is bulma.
I think she should of tried harder seeing as she's a dragonball fan and all.

Nice to know that the original DB ending theme is still getting some love. I'm guessing the random stuff with the watermelon, juice box, and dinner preparation are a Japanese (pop) culture thing?

For more information about the ending theme itself, check out this page over on Kanzentai.

I liked the Japanese ending for Dragonball and would have to say that I liked even better than the Mexican version. I say this without any reservation at all. Bulma looks good in the parts of the closing animation she's in. Come on...you're thinking it too all you folks out there.

I agree with that whole heartedly. Her performance wasn't that good. It kinda ruined the song for me, just a little bit. She is kinda cute though, so that helps. But not by much. :P

Ya I loved it too when he said that. It's so true. XD Like I said earlier, I'm glad I got to see it and it's cute and all, but if you know anything about the idol industry in Japan, it's really just your standard "cookie cutter idol" performance.^^' I personally get fed up with all these little teen Japanese singers with voices that should be on a 5 year old and make you feel diabetic from the "sugary overload". Of course they're not expected to have much talent really, just look cute and have lots of bubbly energy. All I can say, is give me Zard and her "Don't You See?" anyday.XD
