The encyclopedia of everything, and anything, Dragon Ball!

Welcome! The wiki is (still) not actually fully open yet! 😂

It turns out that no-one besides our small group of editors has even seen this main wiki page before. Surprise! Here's what it might look like! You still can't click through and view the vast majority of content yet, but we wanted to at least give more of a sneak peek at what's in store for you, and to also prove that we are in fact quietly plugging away in the background! Please check out our behind-the-scenes preview live stream from January 2021, along with a small selection of live wiki pages. We're excited for you to see what we've been working on, and we can't wait to share more in the future!

What is this? Who needs another/new Dragon Ball wiki? Why you and why now?

This wiki is an extension of Kanzenshuu, a Dragon Ball fansite that dates back to 1998. We believe information online should be free, readily available, well curated, and maintained by people who care, looking ahead to the future and ensuring long-term preservation.

Building off of the main website and additional extensions like our podcast and our forum community, this ever-growing wiki project is supported by top-notch news and content from the main website (including its extensive archive of translations), making it truly a comprehensive database of information like none other before it. Our guiding principle has always been, and will continue to be, to provide fans with a foundation of factually cited, vetted information based on the original Japanese version of series and its various adaptations by people who actually own the material and can actually both read and understand it. It is not our intention, nor this community's, to dismiss any international distribution of the series, but rather to treat any information from them as secondary to the original; this information is welcome, and will eventually be included in due time, but is not our priority.

Why a wiki specifically, and not just more of the main website built out? Well, we certainly have a vision for what the "main website" can and should be beyond just raw listings of information, which we do of course have there... but there's so much more we can do, particularly when it comes to data hierarchy, organization, and project management. The wiki is one tool to accomplish this.

As an extension of the main Kanzenshuu website, this wiki is maintained, supported, and produced in full by a small, ragtag group of editors working their collective butts off, completely unpaid and unsupported in any way, because we're very silly and we believe in old-school projects like this. We will likely never "finish" this project, but that's half the fun, and we're happy to have you along for the ride.

Message from the Co-Founder

Years ago we, the Kanzenshuu community, set forth with plans to launch a Dragon Ball wiki that would bring together both the fans' desire for trustworthy information and our passion for accurate documentation. I think it is safe to say that we will achieve that. It is our hope that not only will English speaking fans appreciate the collective knowledge gathered here, but that international fans will as well. After all, Dragon Ball has long since been an international franchise that stretches far beyond the barriers of language, empowering us all with amazing shōnen spirit.

As someone who has been intimately involved with this project from the very beginning, I can attest to the fortitude needed to complete such an undertaking as this. For those that have had a hand in any stage of its development, words will never truly describe how much I appreciate your dedication and involvement in fulfilling such an audacious task as this has become, and will be for quite some time. You all have made this dream a reality.

For me, it is truly a privilege to have helped provide such an amazing community and fanbase with what I feel is such a valuable and useful resource for the entire Dragon Ball community. I hope everyone will enjoy it as much as I do.
