Re: Dragon Ball Viewing Order

I'm the type of nerd who swears by release dates, so DB -> DBZ -> DBGT -> DBS -> DBD would be my order.

Don't really count Kai since it's literally just DBZ with less content.

This order is as if I had written it myself — I completely agree with it. I also agree that I don’t count Kai, since ...

But if this is only going to be a recut, then why would they need gengas? I know nothing has been officially confirmed, this is just a hypothetical question.

Assuming that that sheet is part of said project, they're likely creating a few new cuts, too. Compilation films do it, so it's hardly ...

Re: Torishima's Harsh Take on Akio Iyoku and DB Store

However, as far as I know, Dragon Ball Kai was Torishima’s idea. And not only was it a terrible idea, but in terms of quality it doesn’t exactly surpass the DB Store either…

Is there a source on this? It seems like that would be more of a Bandai/Toei thing.

Re: Torishima's Harsh Take on Akio Iyoku and DB Store

To be fair, Iyoku was the one who got rid of Yamamuro and replaced him with more talented animators and designers. He recognized that Yamamuro isn't the right person anymore.

At the same time, Shueisha is unable to replace Toyotaro, who - to put it mildly - is nowhere near talented enough to be ...

Re: Toei Animation Europe's Dragon Ball strategies - could this mean morer dubs and a better situation between AB and To

Q-Tec would be better than TOEI doing it inhouse, as they did the first 98 episodes of Kai, which looks decent and doesn't have the green tint. Sadly it probably wouldn't be them.

Yeah, it's true that there's no green tint, but there's also no detail and no grain either. It's ridiculous, but ...

I'm yet to find someone who prefers Dragon Ball )---> Dragon Ball Z )---> Dragon Ball Daima. Hopefully they exist and I find them, eventually.

Yes, I exist. :D
More precisely: Dragon Ball (manga) → Dragon Ball Daima. For me, that’s the highest quality the Dragon World has to offer.

Daima: I ...

Re: The Complete List of Broadcast Dates for Dragon Ball in Germany

I remember when DBZ episodes 253–254 weren’t aired; back then I was also watching it on RTL II. (Though I don’t speak German. :) ) But in the case of GT, why did they skip episodes?

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread

For a very long time, fans were saying that the TV anime was on hiatus too.
It's true that the situation isn't the same now, because this time it's an official source saying the manga is on hiatus.

What I’d really love the most is a brand new Dragon Ball manga series by a completely new artist.
You ...

It’s really not a big deal. That’s life — every series ends at some point. But come on, they should just admit it instead of putting out the same bullshit every month about it being "on hiatus."

If true, this is the 4th death of Dragon Ball Super. Maybe the end of an era. I wouldn't have a problem with that if I could see a new era coming... :?

I don't think we can talk about quality Dragon Ball content without bringing up the Battle of Gods movie. If there were any content in this revival that we can point to that feels like something Toriyama would've written during his prime, it's this movie and Daima.

Yes, the screenplay is ...

Re: Poll: Let's forget about "canon". What's your favorite TV continuity?

If I have to think about what feels the most Toriyama-esque and what offers the highest-quality Dragon Ball entertainment with the least contradictions, the 34 Kanzenban volumes and the upcoming Dragon Ball Daima UHD BD Box in July come to mind.

If we're talking about TV continuity, then it's ...

Re: Goku's New Form in Daima!

Toriyama ignored Super; it's as simple as that.

That’s exactly right. And what’s strange to me is how quickly I let go of the Super era (2008–2025). Even though I genuinely loved both the TV series and the manga, after Daima, I just wouldn’t be able to rewatch the disastrously weak animation in ...

An absolute disaster mess of storytelling and for what? Because they couldn't have Kibitoshin refuse in 1 gag scene and a quick explanation for SSJ4 not appearing in Super? It's literally all it would take
