Re: The Kix Broadcast of Kai
Being fresh into my teens when this run first started, I absolutely devoured it. I was pretty young when DBZ ended its run on Toonami, so my foremost memories are watching the Hindi dub on trips to Pakistan. It was great for me to watch it in the UK and I followed every scrap of information about it ...

Re: Ocean Studios' "Dragon Ball Kai" Dub Turns 14; Still Unreleased
I've suggested this before, but there is a new UK kids channel called Moochi we could try pitching Kai too, their target audience leens a bit younger (3-9 years), but hey the US has been doing the reverse for almost a decade now airing Kai and Super exclusively for adult audiences on Toonami, so ...

Re: Ocean Studios' "Dragon Ball Kai" Dub Turns 11; Still Unreleased
Back during the early 2010s when lots of channels were rediscovering anime, Syfy, Scuzz, Sony Movie Channel and Viceland were the ones that actually had regular anime blocks, although in SyFy's case it was far lesser than their showings from the 90s. This could definitely be a route for ocean kai ...

Re: Ocean Studios' "Dragon Ball Kai" Dub Turns 11; Still Unreleased
Apparently there was a brief time a few years ago when the original score was kept in the English versions of Pokémon because the prices went down a little, but then the licensing changed and whoever it changed to brought the prices so far up, it once again became so much more economical for them ...

Re: Ocean Studios' "Dragon Ball Kai" Dub Turns 11; Still Unreleased
Now I don't know why this has only occurred to me now considering I've known about this dub for 10 years but I just realised an Ocean dub means another english version of Dragon Soul! I'm not really a fan of Vic Mignogna's singing voice (I think he's fine.. just lacks a lot of power) and this ...

Re: The History of Dragon Ball in Every Country
All I know is that Cartoon Network in Pakistan aired the Hindi dub of Dragon Ball Z. One of the wikis listed season 5 as being dubbed in Urdu for KidZone, but I'd take that with a grain of salt as it would be really strange for a random season to be dubbed and nothing else. Only similar example I ...

Re: The History of Dragon Ball in Every Country
So, a source has confirmed for me there is a dub of Dragon Ball Z made in Pakistan, but it is very rare and no known copies are in circulation.
Kids Zone, who are a channel that dubs series into Urdu are planning to air the Z dub at some point, so hopefully it will be rerun. I am trying to follow ...

Re: Dragon Ball and the UK.
I long for the days of Woolworths, Blockbuster, and Virgin Megastore.
Getting back to Dragon Ball, has anyone ever visited the old ukdb.net? Sadly I wasn't aware of it when it was active, but I know this was a UK Dragon Ball site developed by huge fans of the series from England and Holland ...

I'd just like to bump this to say, I've changed my opinion on narrative entertainment, I've just found out that it's made up of a bunch of old CSC Media Group people, which is fantastic really! I feel like this opens a whole lot more opportunity for communication with them, and hopefully they work ...

Man, I feel like I really came of age on these forums, reading all these insightful messages and finding out so much more about the labyrinth that is TV programming. I was searching for a particular email and stumbled across one I had sent to Kix as a precocious 12 and a half year old - I don't ...

It really is astounding what has happened in the time since this dub went into production, from global events like recessions, the ongoing COVID pandemic to all the new Dragon Ball content since Kai that's come and gone, and of course our own personal stories.

Cautious optimism is the name of the game here lads
Yeah, but cautious optimism over ten and a half years is a source of inevitable let-down. Just ask any fan of the Cleveland Browns.
In any event, I've resigned to never being able to see this dub. That said, I'd be happy to be wrong ...
