Apparently a new build of the game was shown at Salón del Manga de Barcelona! There seems to be a hefty update coming soon:

A more condensed roster with transformation sub-menus
Technique stats visable from the roster menu
Costumes selectable from the roster menu
Splitscreen on other stages ...

It doesn't have local player vs player because they didn't plan one from the start. COVID slowed a lot down but people were still able to work from home and Japan didn't lockdown during the pandemic like the US did.

Just a heads up, it seems like someone datamined the game and uncovered code for cut characters who were supposed to be on the base roster.
Seems that Spike Chunsoft had planned a bigger roster than what we actually got, WAY bigger...

Apparently Gohan Black is a what if in the game. Not sure if he has Rose, but Merged Zamasu looks different (ultimate Gohan's hair a bit longer). Not sure if this is a separate character or an outfit, or if it's playable.

I'm not preparing for anymore DLC past Suoer Hero and Daima especially with Jump Festa coming up and rumors of a new dragonball project.

A sequel to Sparking Zero would probaly be easier to make money with then the constant dlc Xenoverse had and there is a lot to market off a sequel like the old ...

Granted, I don't know how many other characters they COULD include from OG DB besides King Piccolo, Pilaf, Shu, & Mai's mech, the World Tournament fighters, & what not. Plus, if they did story content for them, I can't see much more than the tournaments & the fights with the Piccolos being adapted ...
